Can anyone advise, I am not sure if my fridge (Hitachi R-VG450P3MS-1) is malfunctioning or...

When I got my fridge, whenever I closed the door, it would kick start the inverter compressor. But last night the fridge like kinda stalled, the whole fridge has no sound. And it won’t kick start the inverter compressor when I closed the door. As I was worried, I off and on the fridge, and it went back to normal...

Is this a sign of my fridge is going to spoil?

Using this: R-BG415P6MSX
When my wife stuffed too full, like “suffocate” it as no proper air flow.
Got to use selector to speed the air flow etc.

Under warranty, then call them down to check.

i just gotten a Hitachi 4-door fridge less than 2 weeks ago. Noticed the fridge is not very cold, freezer is ok though. eg. after putting in a 1 litre bottle of water will take almost 2-3hrs to feel it's chilled (not those very cold type, somehow like typical water cooler water). Is this the norm for Hitachi fridge or could it be due to ** period my family keep opening the doors resulting in this. Energy mode not on and already set to the coldest at 5 bars.

This is the model

I was looking for a new fridge recently to replace my LG and came across this Midea brand but dare not buy because of the brand. They have this side by side fridge which is exactly the same as my LG one which I'll be replacing. Cost about $1.1k while the rest of the brands with fridge of about the same side cost about $1.3k and above. In the end gotten my Hitachi fridge but seems like not very cold in the normal compartment. :(

Did you call them up and inform them about this problem or request for an on-site check?

I'm still monitoring with a simple temperature reader. The freezer is ok at about -18 for 2/5 coldness setting, only the fridge temperature will hover at about 7-8 degree with the special compartment part at about 4-5 degree with coldness set to the highest 5/5.

Read that the optimal should be 5 degree and below for fridge temperature. Could be due to ** keep opening the fridge and the coldness escape or maybe need to store more food inside to maintain the temperature. Read that with lesser things, once u open the door, the air will escape faster and replace with warm air.

Currently it will take about 2hours for a 750ml small mineral water bottle to be cold which I find is rather long compared to my previous LG :D

Panasonic now only 1 year warranty. I feel Panasonic fridges no longer anywhere near as robust like National many many years ago. Hitachi too many stories of PCB failure after warranty ends. So I just got a cheapo Sharp and bought GC's extended warranty. In future, I'd probably only stick to Sharp/Mitsubishi.

National lol. The one at parents' place still alive from the 80s. =:p

We bought a 400+L Sharp recently too to replace our 2nd fridge (Samsung). Sharp prices indeed quite value for money.

Samsung prices are on the high side for the specs. Ours bought a few years back was a mid range model and it was quite lousy, liquids kept getting frozen despite the low setting and the service ctr couldn't assist to resolve. Then recently it wasn't cold anymore.
