for fridge with ice dispenser, some are concerned with hygiene/slime form up in the internal tubing in the fridge over time.

This tubing is to transfer the water tank to the cubes compartment for freezing.

Will be shopping around for a fridge soon and likely eyeing the Mitsubishi fridges as I've had really good experiences with them. The last one at my old place lasted >9 years without incident (still running well after I gave away to a friend who put it at his workshop for his workers). BOught a similar one for my in-laws, and also lasted well >7 years now.

This time i might look for models that have the ice dispenser at the front. Any pros and cons to fridges with this feature?
That was then but not now. Bro, stay away from Mit fridges , if you can. πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Hi gurus,

What are your thoughts on the Libeherr (integrated) stand alone fridge and freezer.

LIEBHERR
1) Liebherr 60cm Integrated Full Freezer (SIGN3576)
2) Liebherr 60cm Integrated Full Fridge (SIKB3550)

Have been trying to find out about reviews about it. But nothing in Singapore :( Its a more than substantial investment so am rather hesitant.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Actually, what features does it have or attract you to consider this model? Personally, i would look at the popular models like LG, Panasonic and Electrolux. Easier to get spare parts for repair (if need to) since it's more commonly used.

How's fisher & paykel fridges.? Any good reviews.?
In 2012, Haier, a major Chinese appliance manufacturer, purchased over 90% of Fisher & Paykel Appliance shares. Maybe It's like buying a Haier now as parts would be manufactured by Haier.

I have very good experience with LG and Panasonic. LG (then called GoldStar) lasted about 28 years and Panasonic (then called National) lasted about 35 years. So far no experience with Electrolux.

Ar ok ok. As moving into new house soon, and the cabinet dimensions is built to F&P body. Difficult to find matching dimension.
All my shortlisted fridge either a bit tall or wider.
To redo kitchen cabinet is not an option as I have to no time to do it.

Chinese products are now on par with Japanese and Korean products. In fact I like and use products from Xiaomi and Midea.

Hi Blimey.. good question. I realised that with alot of fridges that i have had, have gone through a fair amount of food waste. Aka, fresh produce doesnt keep as long. Unfortunately for me, we dont shop as often and dont have a helper to make more frequent runs to the grocer.

That is the one of the main selling point the likes of Liebherr is attracting us to consider paying such a premium. Also, they tout that they are a true and true refrigerator / cooling company - hence their specialisation.

but their warranty is only for 2 years. Of coz if we were to top up, can extend the warranty.

reviews that i have come across are from other countries, and it has been favourable and have reviews saying that the fridge last a really long time. Just not sure if the owners here feel the same way.

been looking at F&P too and notice that their design are much nicer now. Only have a dryer from them and its been a very hardy workhorse. Have had it for 4+ years and still going strong (touch wood)

My current fridge is a fisher & paykel. bought it only because it was one of the few brands that sold bottom freezer fridges when i bought it. but i see more options for bottom freezer fridges now and my next one will not be a fisher & paykel because of the cost. other than that, it's all good.

Thanks for the reviews on fisher paykel guys. Most likely if really cannot find the fridge that fits in the hole, then buy F&P liao.

In fact many of them are Japanese company technology. For example, Midea bought Toshiba etc.
