I think Pedros are good when u want to achieve a certain on-trend designer look (which is oftern short lived) but not looking to splurge on the real thing. Applies to casual shoes only though..

Yeah, I don't like their casual shoes. The designs are starting to look very gawdy. Their loafers are still worth looking at though imho.

i quite like the pair of pedro casual loafers i got years back. Almost 2 -3 years liao still going strong. And it can match most bottoms i wear, be in jeans or shorts.
But other than that Pedro is no use for me. Their smallest size still too big for me and i heard their comfort level is bad plus doesn't last... Beetlebug used to be much better until i dunno what happened to it...

If you are in no hurry, regularly check their facebook for any promotions and be early for the sales if you have a common size (anywhere between US7-10).

Blake and GY are 2 different shoe constructions. U can google the details if interested in the technical differences but the consensus in terms of end result is that GY welt shoes are more sturdy and better for re-soling but have a less flexible and thicker looking sole. Blake stitch is the opposite. Blake stitch shoes can and do look more sleek.

GY construction is popular with English shoes whereas Italian shoes tend to use Blake stitch. Hope this helps.

I normally wouldn't look at these brands, but if you only have these choices, then stick with Ecco or Rockport.

Curious. Are u already immune to such periodic offers or still retain your strand of kiasu singaporean dna and have bought like 20 pairs over time during each sale (and still buying)?

Hmm not really, but i am not looking at Pedro, beetle bug, definitely.
Think i might just go for geox

Yup. Quite hard to be worse than Pedro though.

Better quality does not mean better value for money. Just some food for thought.

Yes. I used to buy Ecco and Geox too.
But price is never a straight forward indication of quality.

Geox definitely better than Pedro.
