Took a similar package from Hong Thai last December at $1794/pax. High price due to skiing season, package was $1.6-1.7k if travel Sep-Oct last year.

Realised there is no visit to Gyeongbokgung or other royal palaces after coming back. Most tour agency includes a visit in their packages. Last day was free as the itinery has been completed, but brought to shops selling health supplement and amethyst. These are my only complaints.

Was very satisfied with the hotel, food, guide, sights. Horse riding was enjoyable but bumpy when the horse gallops. 2 hotels, Jeju Oriental and Sheraton Walkerhill have small casinos, entry for age 19 and above, foreigners only.

Rental of skiing equipment at own expense as stated.

Anyone tried hongtai - all in package? I am quoted $15xx (including taxes), travelling in July (this month). What do you guys think of the price?

:s22: I think you must book early, be the 1st 10 in the grp, to get the lowest advertised price~

Yup, i am the first 10. So i am entitled to the early bird discount i.e. 15xx including taxes. Not sure if i am over charged. What do you people think?

Fellow korean travellers, need your advice.

If I am more into sceneries, besides Jeju, what other locations should I look out for in the package? I notice that even within one agency, there are a few packages and their itineraries differ. Going in late sep, if that helps.

Another question. Besides Genting Holiday, which seems popular here, and also there are positive comments about Hong Thai and Chan Bros, which other agencies are good for korean packages? How about CTC? Anyone taken their korean tours?

Pop and the rest, dont ever try Hong Thai! I have extremely terrible experience with them,
1) over-promised and under-delivered - need to top up a few hundred dollars for no reason when there is a change of date (only 4 days apart and not within my expectation) + same itinerary. Be careful when you sign up for their promotion/deal (gimmick!!)

2) the manager did not fulfill his promise when he confirm i will receive my refund. It has been more than 2 weeks since i received it. Imagine the opportunity cost here. We are talking about thousand dollars here! Their sales men promise you earth and sky when they want your business. But they deter addressing your concerns after you sign up for their package. You never hear from them, no calls and email on why there is no refund.

3) i log a complain to their director (Alex Chan) and managing director 黃士心. Like what i said, not even a word or call from them.

4) i am not the only one

Ask yourself, do you still think you are interested to take up a package with them?

sry to hear about your bad experience, saintgril, and thanks for sharing.

This is one reason why I personally prefer to travel free & easy but for korea, I think I need a package tour, so which agent is highly recommended then?

:s22: Ok lah, your problem is just normal, better than Chan brothers.

1) Promotional price only on selected date + 1st few passenger book in the group. So change dates means not 1st few passengers liao.

2&3) My situation is worse. I book for 8 person during Natas in oct/nov to taiwan, tour depart in Dec.

2 weeks before depart, they say tour confirm asked us to pay full. Pay liao the a few days later say tour cancel unable to book hotel.

Ask us to change to another departure date and topup, no more promotional price as Natas is over.

So we decided to cancel the tour and get full refund. But the refund hard to get back, make many calls + emails to Chan Brothers, but always their staff say the person incharge was either on leave or MC. Even complain to CASE but CASE as usual unable to help.

After a few months, in next year Feb the able to get back the full refund in cash.
