Eh muscleman, I dont understand.

If u wanna try tutoring, u can just try part time, see if u like it anot, before gg full time mah.

No need to spend 2 years getting a post grad diploma, then serving 4 year bond....

Anw, wat u workin as now ah?

Dun tell you my job, jin sad

Anyway, switching to become teacher is 1 yr training and 3 yr bond for me. I'm sort of ok with course and bond lah, can treat it as a training ground also before becoming tutor or simply staying on and going down the admin path or something. Got a friend who is planning to return to teaching, says he finds the job satisfaction a lot better than his current job.

Also considering maybe a poly teacher instead, no need course or bond. But that one I no prior experience can meh? And I also feel my credentials and ability no enough, yet an ex-colleague of mine left and became poly teacher leh and I know we are about same level bah, just diff disciplines, he more focused, I more spread out.
Kinda conflicted now.

shoulders and tummy day

lateral raises cable machine 20kg 85 reps. just nice for me
leg lifts 88 reps. not as good as last week

facepull 55kg 60 reps. I know I've said this a thousand times, but I love this exercise.

I didn't take any breakfast this morning and I can say for certain that it makes a difference. I was panting and sweating profusely by the 5th set and I kept sitting down whenever I got the chance, trying to conserve energy.

Eh Reddit, were you a teacher before you became a full time tutor? If yes, how's the transition like and how's the work schedule then and now?

I'm curious because I'm considering switching career path. Teaching and then possibly see if I've got the people skills and communication skills to be a successful tutor. I recall I was quite a popular teaching assistant during Uni days, because I was pretty good at guiding the students in lab and tutorials.

bro, I wasn't a teacher before being a full time tutor. I started out tutoring about 8 or 9 years ago, teaching all subjects. then after a few months, I focused on English and gp, and that's what I've been doing all these years.

generally teaching older kids is a lot easier than younger ones. more than half of my students are taking o levels or a levels. so if you have the chance to teach in poly, thats seriously worth considering man.

life as a tutor is pretty good too! I love my job; it's something I look forward to every day. the money is not bad (although unlikely to get rich doing this), the workload relatively light when compared to a school teacher, and very satisfying.

Ok... sounds quite good.... Are you a home tutor or do you teach classes for many kids at a tuition center?

I rent a small shop and run it with my wife. Recently a friend of mine chipped in as well. I started off teaching from my home at first and then when it got too crowded I rented a place somewhere else. Moved in to my current place about 3 to 4 years ago.

Own boss, OTOT, do investment for passive incomes, lesser expenses if work from home. jin song!

being self employed does mean having more freedom to experiment. only downside is the rent is a killer:vijayadmin: however i have heard of tutors who live in bigger flats and teaching there.

yup! but it is always good to be at your own house. say have a makeshift table in the middle of the living room, or somewhere able to accommodate the group of tutees, at different timings.

will have time to do own stuffs in between, can take a short rest before the next lesson, and can take up more lessons too. really can save a lot by working from home. transport lah food lah rent lah, etc lah..

last week i went sentosa with my wife and kid for a 3 day staycation. it was very fun although a little expensive. i only managed to work out twice before we left. i thought i could continue in the hotel gym but my plan was scuppered when i found out that it had tiny dumb bells and many many treadmills. i decided to take a break and just relax.

i forgot to add that theres a kiddy playground at hard rock hotel, with tiny water fountains and a slide. theres even a small man made beach where kids can play with sand. very nice!

todays work out
shrugs 120 kg
148 reps over 13 sets. this is a good weight for me
back extensions
195 reps over 13 sets.

its good to relax a little on mondays. i find that it eases me into some of the more xiong exercises during the rest of the week.

Quite happy with my workout today as I tried skull crushers. I haven't done them in a long time.

I found out that the ez bar weighs 10kg, because the weight was stamped onto it.

Skull crushes 40kg + 10kg 85 reps
Chin ups 15kg 83 reps. Getting worse man :(

Tricep ext 80kg 27 reps
Hammer curls 30kg db 24 reps

Tired but fulfilled. Now about to eat my enormous salad and salmon.
