Actually until now I am still confused about getting China sets which come with China ROM. Is there a fixed rules which model can and cannot be flashed to global rom after that? Because for example RMN7 China sets have few versions, while India and other countries don't carry all right? I scare buy a particular China version wait can't flash to global ROM.

I saw in miui forum about first step to unlock, second step is to flash the selected ROM be it global stable or developer. Correct???

Note 7 and pro using emmc 5.1, Poco using ufs 2.1 , mi8 lite can't seems to find any info but most likely emmc 5.1

I think redmi note 7 Pro uses ufs 2.1 while note 7 doesn't.

Yeah , ufs 2.1 is very important. I rather have a slower sd636 w ufs 2.1 than a faster 660/670 with emmc 5.1. it's like desktop i7 with HDD vs i5 with SSD all over again

I have have had a SD821 and SD660 with emmc5.1 and didn't feel slow to me. Of course, UFS would be faster but emmc 5.1 wasn't impeding my daily usage. RN7 is a "budget" phone after all.

Of course, if one was loading large files ( i.e. games ) frequently, then it would be different case altogether.

Currently I'm using the 64gb rom/6gb ram version from China and had successfully flashed a EU rom version (which is a CN rom version but without the China bloatware).
However, now I have issues with the supposed global rom that was release a few days so.... Can flash the rom no problem, but one I restart my phone it keeps popping this "find device closed unexpectedly" message many times and then phone reboots to recovery. Did a factory reset and clean install also cannot. Sian. There is a fastboot rom version but that link is down and many say only that fastboot rom version then can work properly.

Now I trying to flash an updated eu rom version to see how.

You may wanna hold your buy first

I was looking Mi India website, they seem not carrying 6gb ram version. This is why I was worried if there is hardware restrictions when flashing global rom...

Seems now can't really flash a Chinese OEM phone to global ROM easily?

The last miui phone I flashed was the redmi note 4g and changing it from Chinese to global ROM was straightforward.

If flashing ROM require unlocking of the bootloader I think I wait for the local version.

Yes local set would be less of a hassle... for me I'm ok with getting China set as I have some experience in flashing Android phones and rooting. Also this experience let's me explore the vast customization available.... The last Android I had was the Samsung note3! =:p

Yes if wan to flash from China to global rom, you need to unlock bootloader. Usually 360-720 hours of waiting.

Anything we need to look out for note 7 pro or is it the usual fanfare and concentrate more of on redmi 7 instead?
