No this is just the note 7 global version which original 7 in India is 12 MP camera basically India now selling the international version of the note 7

not really either. note 7 was first launched in china with the gm1 48mp sensor, which has already been released to global markets since feb, sg included after a month or 2 of delays. indian note 7 with the 12mp sensor has never made its way outside its launch market (and it shouldn't), and most likely isn't the note 7s since the watermark is 48mp. surprisingly few leaks regarding this 7s as compared to the 7 and 7 pro since end last year.

I think different tier. Realme 3 is comparable to redmi 7 for 200$ phone. Redmi note 7 is above that price point a bit.
So, it depend on your budget.

Pros of redmi note 7 over realme/redmi 7 are:
- fhd screen
- better appearance since it use glass back
- better camera
- Quick charge. Allthough the charger come with the phone is normal 2.4A. RN7 come with usb-c while redmi 7/realme use micro usb
- processor wise, some user say mediatek p60 from realme 3 is outperform SD 660 on redmi note 7.

is the 48mp camera dependent on the camera sensor like samsung gm1/sony or the snapdragon chip?

eg: is it possible to have a 48mp with the sony sensor (which makes it a true 48mp) but have SD660 chip?

660 cannot handle true 48mp, 675 (7 pro) can but real me 3 pro is only 16 MP cam and softest interpolate to 64mb .

But though 7pro has the pixel density for it but still per pixel is 0.8 um pixel and f= 1.7 still not good enough so most of the time the 48mp pic turn out soft and have noise only useful under very good lighting use to take close or macro shot

Even the zoom for p30 pro only useful very bright light condition the moment it’s an dimmer or overcast sky the zoom pic become very soft and noisy.

So for the moment don’t be fooled by the gimmick as the techno is not there yet

actually if you look at qualcomm's product page for the 660, it has been recently updated to show support for up to 48mp for single camera, while the previous spec of 25mp is now limited to zero shutter lag support. so it can support 48mp, just that it can't take 48mp pictures as quickly as say phones with zsl like the pixels.

anyway 48mp is really just a gimmick, especially when the gm1 sensor on the 7 non pro uses software interpolation to obtain the 48mp.

Yes it does not take actual 48MP because of the Samsung GM1 sensor but it’s the same with other Sony IMX586 48MP phones, by default they take 12MP photos unless you activate some 48MP mode within the app, it is never the default and final results vary phone to phone.

But to be fair from reviews I have seen, that 48MP maybe a gimmick but it still takes decent photos for the price.

2 weeks back bought my 1st 4/128 Local set with foc qcoins
