If I am not wrong only note 9 pro has nfc but that’s another price range Liao

Hi guys.

Am looking at a phone with nfc. Right now is the Note 8 Pro the best bang for the buck? Or should I consider the Note 9 series?

What's the cheapest and latest promotion now for the Note 8 Pro? Anyone can share?

Thanks!

nope, redmi note 9 series don't have nfc. note 9 pro is note 9s locally, note 9 pro max seems to be india exclusive for now like redmi note 7 pro.

Note 8 is at a good price already since it was launched last year. Note 9s still new so the price not much discount. I have the Note 8 and very happy with it for normal use.

Sent from HUAWEI EVA-L19 using GAGT

Yah. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is really a good, value for $$ phone. Good performance, decent camera and good battery life.

Anybody here that uses the Note 8 Pro to listen to music via an external DAC? Does it support digital out with 16bits, 44100Hz (CD/FLAC) quality? My old Nokia N8 worked well with my FiiO DAC/amp. I guess I will need a USB C to mini USB OTG cable.

I am generally very happy with the Note 8 pro for the price I paid... $259 and comes with Google ROM.

I only have two issues with the phone.

1. Too many ads. Anyway to disable them?

2. The photo quality. Redmi note 8 pro was advertised to be a camera powerhouse boasting 64 MP sensor. But the photos taken were absolutely awful -- extremely grainy. Even when I used the 64 MP camera under bright daylight, it is not as sharp as my iphone. The 64mp photos take up lotsa storage space but the image quality is no where comparable to my iphone. :s22:

Lol. Comparing a $259 phone with a $1000++ phone which is at least four times the price. Yep sounds fair.

Redmi note 8 pro was marketed to be a superb camera phone boasting 64 MP camera sensor.

Turns out its camera is the weakest link out of the entire phone. :s22:

1. No easy way to disable ads. For system apps like Music, Video, Security, Cleaner, Downloads, go into their respective app settings and turn off "Receive Recommendations". Go into phone settings, search Authorisation & revocation then revoke authorisation for msa.

2. You need to understand it's a $200+ phone, for the price, the image quality is good enough. I understand that Xiaomi may have gone overboard to keep marketing the 64MP camera but nonetheless, we need to keep our expectations in check. Developers are working hard to work on a stable GCam port, current versions are a little buggy, buy are able to get slightly better image quality than the stock camera app.

People should know by now that the number of megapixels isn't the most important aspect of a camera.

You just got taken in by marketing.

Still, expecting a $259 phone to beat a $1000++ phone is just... :s13: :s22:
