Overnight battery drain with data off but network still on is very bad. Can't imagine with data or WiFi on. :s22:

Mind telling me how you set up to tap for bus/mrt rides?
Add your card to Google pay. Then add you card into TL SimplyGo. After that just switch on NFC tap your phone at the fare reader with your screen on. Usually I will open the Google Pay app when I tap.

Yup as answered by fellow member here. No need to launch GPay app to tap, ensure phone is unlocked with screen on and you will be able to tap for MRT and bus rides.

Hi all, why u all say the pro one is better? thought the Helio chipset has a bad reputation for performance? also, the local redmi note 8 has NFC?

The Helio G90T chip in the Note 8 Pro model is a huge leap forward compared to past Mediatek processors. Plus only Note 8 Pro has NFC, standard Note 8 don't have. NFC is the reason I got the Pro version.

To be honest, I don't know much about the CPU thingy. I just say that since I started to use, I don't have problem with the pro. The drawback for me is that the SIM/SDCard is hybrid. It's slightly bigger and thicker. The camera is in the middle and sometimes I touch it when I try to use the finger scanner.

The RN 8 does not have NFC. The 8T does have NFC but no local warranty.

Is it a must to add to SimplyGo for payment ? Somebody told me it's for tracking and claims purpose.

no need, but good to have for those purposes. if they are not important to u then u can just straight away use bank card/set up on gpay, no need to create account.
