I have just bought a used RN8T and have already it up then retweaking some settings as I go along daily. Every so often I discover that the permissions already given to apps get reset. Ie WhatsApp contact permissions already given, through the rest of the day I explore and try out some other settings in the phone then suddenly after some time I realize that I can no longer see the contract names in the WhatsApp chats only the numbers then I go to WhatsApp permissions and see all the permissions including Contacts are denied. Any advice what settings would do this? Also bank apps get the same treatment ie location, phone etc. Thanks

I didn't even know there is a T version for RN8. Looks like yours is China ROM. Try doing factory reset again and installing google play services and give all permissions and then install WhatsApp and give all permissions.

My phone also had the same problem. Factory reset fixed it.

Well there is, but it is cater for European countries. Then again his rom should not be China ROM.

Anybody having problem with the Compass ? I can't get it to calibrate. Keep asking me to retry. Using RM Note 8 Pro.

Finally got paylah and phone link to paynow both set up and the rewards are now automatically credited to bk acct.

I'm amazed that you can also get cashback for prescription drugs bought from public hospital pharmacy.

Hi anyone's RN8 with tempered glass screen protector cause the light sensor to not be able to adjust the auto brightness correctly? Thanks

Hi RN8 &8T users may I know if your Auto brightness is working correctly and smoothly with a tempered glass screen protector stuck on? My 8T has a glass screen protector from the beginning and I realize that the auto brightness is at 1/2 during daylight and at the extreme left ie very dim under dim light conditions. ie no in between variations. Wondering if it could be the tempered glass screen affecting.Thanks

Best if can take a photo and upload here. Next is that maybe can get another as tempered glass and remove the current one you using to see if really the tempered glass issues or really the phone senseor.

But if you do not want to do that, your work around is only manual control for the brightness.

My note 8 is on Miui 11 "Miui Global 11.0.12 Stable 11.0.12.0 (PCOMIXM)"
and security patch is on Nov 2020.

Running on Android 9.

Still waiting for the miui12 update.

I was on this version and received the update this morning.

Hi would like to ask if there's a WiFi auto on function? On stock Android there's this function to auto turn on WiFi when there are saved WiFi aps near by, required to turn on WiFi scanning setting. Thanks

Not sure if this helps but in my case, I had GPay running and then linked paylah to hp number. Then the link between GPay and paylah is established automatically. It took some trail and error before I got it to work.

Maybe someone else can provide a more detailed step by step instructions.
