Good CDC PDI

Got my license 2 weeks back. Learnt under Mr Sidik, CDC. Class 3 Manual. He meets me at Eunos MRT for lessons.

Great instructor! He's always polite and respectful, doesn't shout or curse at you (unlike some instructors I've heard about).

He gives you a lot of freedom in the car once you're more or less proficient, so his lessons are more suitable for the more 'independent' people who prefer learning things by themselves.

His method for the circuit test is foolproof. As long as you remember his pointers, you'll breeze through the circuit as long as you can control the clutch well.

One thing that makes him a great choice of instructor, though, is his car. It's less than a year old currently, and handles very well. The clutch pedal is quite forgiving with its biting point, which was a godsend for my dumb left leg.

Only downside is it may be a bit hard to book more than one lesson with him every week if you're in a hurry to get your license. He's also a little on the pricier side, as far as PDIs go, but worth it in my opinion.

PM me if you want his contact!
Hi! Could you please pm me his contact?

I hope you guys realize that aiveee hasn't logged in since March. Don't waste time quoting and asking her for the referral. I've called the PDI before (Dec last year). Didn't sound friendly on the phone and was too busy to answer any questions and to take in new students.

Hiya, just wanna tell you my own experience. i booked Mr frankie thru my friend. First lesson was good, detailed and animated, the only downside is he dont speak very well (mumbling) but overall was a good experience. So subsequently i booked for another lesson two weeks later as his schedule was quite packed. So i went for the next lesson. Same thing, he was very attentive and detailed. Then Heightened Alert happened. So after 1.5 months later i finally booked him again. So this time i thought it was the usual 1.5 hours practical bit it was cut short to an hour instead. At the end of the lesson, he said he is going to refund me the enrollment fee cos his schedule is very packed and said i was the one who drag the practical for so long. So, if you guys can handle your instructors asking you to find someone else halfway when you are already accustomed to him/her, then good luck.

Hi I’m looking for a PDI class 3 (manual) instructor - CDC Serangoon/hougang/AMK. Had a terrible experience today and need a new instructor. Basically first two lesson was constructive but the PDI was touchy and always micro managing the steering wheel and always touch my hand on steering wheel and during gear changing. Second lesson got worse same as the first day but he keep slapping my thigh when I make mistake. I was moving when he did that so I was shocked. And he made passing remarks. 3rd lesson, I started off mentioning I do not like being touched and would like to focus on my turning so I’d like to control the steering wheel. He got offended and the nasty scolding started. Even nagged and said how can not touch steering wheel - obviously twisting facts. 4th lesson started slapping my hand when I forgot im already on gear 2. On 5th lesson I’ve had it with the nastiness and scolding I left 20 mins in. Absolutely ridiculous - just because I’m being nice and try to succumb to criticism doesn’t mean I can be stepped all over.
Hope to find a reasonable non-shouty/rude PDI.

Anyone got PDI frankie yue contact no.? The review seems good

Someone shared Mr Frankie Yue contact number in this Car Learner telegram Group. For those looking at PDI teaching in CDC, I want to share that the waiting time for Private Simulator lesson is 3 - 4 months.. This means that you will have to wait 3 - 4 months at least before you can book your 1st TP test. Though you can keep checking for earlier date, it will not be easy..

Furthermore, due to higher demand for PDI, the PDI rate are pushing higher ($40/hr and higher) and are quite close to CDC driving School rate. Coupled with long waiting for Private Simulator lesson, PDI route do not really offer much faster and cheaper route currently as compared to CDC school...Current PDI TP rate ($400 - $450) is also higher than School rate of $323

On the other hand, learner enrolled in CDC school common pool can go for lesson almost daily as the slot can be gotten easily if you keep checking. Moreover, Earlier School Sim slot also can be found easily. However, do take note of the 10 lessons limit per month in CDC school...

Hope this information will be helpful for those still deciding whether to go for PDI or School route. This information is also available in this Car Learner telegram Group.

Posting review for Mr Frankie Yue.

3A, Toyota Axio
Pickup at Ubi CDC (Can arrange for Tai Seng / Ubi MRT pick up)

Chose him mainly because of the review I saw while trawling through the many pages in this thread, and that he also has quite a high pass rate / student numbers as well.

Can confirm that he is indeed a top notch instructor. Took approximately ~10 lessons from him (did have some prior driving lessons with school) and passed TP on the first try some time back.

He is patient, and will point out mistakes every single time you make them. Gives very good tips for driving in circuit and on the road, can fully recommend him. Speaks good English, but does not engage much in small talk. I'm by nature not a chatty person, so this suited me really well. Does not scold you / chide you even if you don't do well, but instead he will remind or nag you.

He is professional as well, and is always there on time. Does not take frequent toilet breaks while driving as well. Even if he does need to answer nature's call, he'll do it quickly.

Only downside is that he appears to have a lot of students, and therefore scheduling can be a bit difficult especially for working adults. (Was running 1 lesson at week for some time).

Feel free to PM me should you want his contact, can 100% recommend him.
Hello, may i have his contact please ? :)

I recently passed on my first try after 17 lessons (at least 7 circuit lessons and including the warm up before exam) with 16 demerit points. Sounds like a lot but I scored 14 points in the circuit due to my TP being too big sized and blocking my back window view causing me to not park properly so strike a kerb when I exit the parking lot. But I would say, 2 demerit points on the road was pretty fantastic.

Spent a total of less than 1.6k including my driving test cost.

Before the exam, my driving uncle even told all his driving uncle instructor friends at the coffeeshop “today is her last day coming already”. Such confidence in me hahahaha.

I love my driving instructor.
9.5/10 because I’m paying for classes!
10/10 or even 11/10 if lessons are free.

Would be my last post here but I will reply to DMs if y’all int in his contact!

3A CDC, lessons around UBI.
Hello may i ask for his contact? thanks !
