If upstairs and not in my room, can load. It’s only in my room then have issue

and usually the speed slows down a lot around midnight. I see from my Deco app that around midnight the signal the router is receiving will drop also

the other weird thing I noticed is that: when I try to login into eight myaccount for my mobile number, can request for OTP and receive OTP.

but when I try to login for my data only plan, request for OTP can only be done if I turn off WiFi on my phone and use my mobile number data
bo bian ba, i think you in middle of 2 weak coverage. if you are in either room with the deco unit (upstairs), both surf net ok?

This map shows the locations of the mobile network cell towers? Or something else?

sorry… I’m very ignorant about these things…

Hello... I not too sure if this map is useful to determine which Telco is suitable, hence i asking the community here.

For my current location, i see Singtel and starhub almost at the same distance, but during my test, starhub is apparently faster.

I moving to my new place next year and i see the closest cell is Simba, so i considering whether to rely solely on 4G broadband.

If in either of the room with deco unit, loading will be faster, but trying to get eight OTP and logging into eight for the data only plan will still have issue.

After testing the two rooms this morning, I think probably eight website got some issue also, since other websites load ok

Hmm… don’t think can run cable coz the router is downstairs at one corner of the living room. Then my room is upstairs, at the diagonal end from the router.

It would probably need to be some kind of commercial/industrial Ethernet cable for it to be so long

but thank you for the suggestion all the same!

the strange thing is that I have 2 deco units upstairs in 2 bedrooms, just not in my room. So I do get the WiFi signal in my room, just that the browser on my phone doesn’t load properly or upload properly when I connect to the WiFi when I’m in my room. So I also don’t know what’s the root issue
You have 2 deco, so I assume they are running in mesh mode ?
Could you move the deco to another position so you can get better coverage for all the rooms ?

I'm staying hdb maisonette., deco X50-5G is in master bedroom. Have a tv downstairs, still ok coverage, 50% signal.
I also have an old RE200 (range extender), downstairs, so I put it on deco network also.
So far coverage ok for all.

Ohh… your post just reminded me I don’t need to place the sim router at the same location as the old broadband router… coz I’m so used to everything being at that corner.

yah I will move the decos around. Thanks!

Ya I also moved my sim router around when the original location cannot get signal.

also that no need to port number lol
just sign up new plan and let the existing one lapse
