Ok, my report for the first month:

Plan: eight $18 days plan (588GB data)
Started: 30 Oct 2024
Today: 29 Nov 2024, 9.59pm
Total data used for the period above: 333.85GB (about 11.12GB a day)

Started off the first two weeks downloading a lot of stuff because was setting up new computer. Then normal usage for 3rd week or so: meaning just parents watching live streaming every day. Then 4th week, I started watching online lectures on Datacamp.

will continue with plan to see how things go.

still dead zone in my bedroom: can connect to WiFi network, but receive errors from trying to get eight OTP when logging into myaccount. Also pages will load very very very slowly. Probably still has working connection to internet in my room despite the dead slow speed since my iPhone still manages to backup to iCloud when I leave it to charge overnight

In case of your bedroom wifi dead zone, you could consider running a long ethernet cable there.
If it's too troublesome, maybe use a powerlilne adapter instead ?

I've no experience with this, some people complain about interference, but seems to be effective most of the time.

Hmm… don’t think can run cable coz the router is downstairs at one corner of the living room. Then my room is upstairs, at the diagonal end from the router.

It would probably need to be some kind of commercial/industrial Ethernet cable for it to be so long

but thank you for the suggestion all the same!

the strange thing is that I have 2 deco units upstairs in 2 bedrooms, just not in my room. So I do get the WiFi signal in my room, just that the browser on my phone doesn’t load properly or upload properly when I connect to the WiFi when I’m in my room. So I also don’t know what’s the root issue

Simba launched data-only plan, $5/mth 300GB, 3GB data roaming.

Cheaper better option for you for mobile home broadband
Seems like can use shoppee vouchers to get coins cashback, lowering the effective cost even more! Will give it a try after my Eight $8 plan ends in Dec (but first have to check if my wifi modem supports their 4G frequencies)

If upstairs and not in my room, can load. It’s only in my room then have issue

and usually the speed slows down a lot around midnight. I see from my Deco app that around midnight the signal the router is receiving will drop also

the other weird thing I noticed is that: when I try to login into eight myaccount for my mobile number, can request for OTP and receive OTP.

but when I try to login for my data only plan, request for OTP can only be done if I turn off WiFi on my phone and use my mobile number data
