Just happened to know about this "card" yesterday.
Signed up for it. Did asked for a physical card and was told to top up $20 SGD.

I do not have the physical card yet and will be using it as an ATM card(Emergency) in Europe, therefore like to clarify before things happen and either I can't use it or have to pay charges which I should not if I have prepared it earlier.

Having inquires about the usage of this card.

1) For ATM withdrawal.
a) Do I have to add money when I am in Singapore to the hp apps in order to withdraw them when I am in Europe ?

b) Do I have to change to the currency (Euro) before I actual leave Singapore in order to withdraw from the ATM ?

c) Will I be charge with conversion fee if I change the currency from SGD to Euro when I am in Europe, if I did not perform point 1b) ?

Thank you in advance for anyone clearing my doubts .

1.
a) you can top-up money anytime as long as you have data connection. make sure you have a credit/debit card saved to top up

b) not necessary. you can also do conversion within the app as long as you have data. unless you spot good rates.

c) no conversion fee.

for a/b/c, just note to avoid doing all of these on the weekends because revolut charge mark up. if you want to be very very safe, just get youtrip also, works the same but without mark ups at all every day for every currency. operates with mastercard. revolut is visa.

Does this revolut do fund transfer to bank account like TransferWise? I'm staying in Indonesia and makes about $800 transfer each month to my Indonesia bank account. With TransferWise, I usually get my transfer in less than 1 hope, usually in 15 minutes. I used WorldRemit before and it took up to 8 hours, and rates are much worse than TransferWise.

How does this Revolut compare?

I also hold a TW debit card where I used it to hold sgd and rupiah balance, though I haven't had the chance to use it.

I already have the following debit cards and want to avoid have more taking up space in my wallets:

1. MatchMove (not in use, but have balance inside)
2. YouTrip(not actively using, only for transport)
3. TransferWise (haven't start using, with sgd & idr balance)

I am getting Revolut because of one important thing. ATM with no withdrawal fee. YouTrip charged $5 per withdrawal.

on the same day I applied 3 cards, Revolut and DBS UnionPay Platinum Debit Card for ATM use. DBS UnionPay Platinum Debit Card I am still unsure will there be any charges that I have overlooked.

YouTrip for the wireless payment.

mdmcash thank you for sharing more details about YouTrip and Revolut.

Not all ATMs... be warned. Thankfully Revolut is quite popular and you can google to find the ATMs which have free withdrawal in the destination you are visiting.

Thank you for the warning. I hope I won't need to use any of the 3 cards as they are really use when I have zero cash due to unfortunate incident.

I am visiting Germany and Austria. From forum, users mentioned Germany banks don't charge so, I assume it's true. Just have to hunt for Germany and maybe Austria banks official ATM.

Revolut and DBS Unionpay cards have arrived. Signed up on Friday 0000H, and got them today*. I have some error for YouTrip and noticed the sms on the 9 Nov. There's a chance it will still arrives this week.

*only checked my letter box today.

last time revolut rates were better than yt for weekdays.

after yt went ahead to adjust their rates to match up, it seems like yt rates are better or similar to rev's everyday.

weekend revolut rates are consistently atrocious regardless because of their "0.5% mark up on major currencies, and 1.0% on other currencies."

Rev's Thai baht has 1.5% markup on weekends.

hope this helps. imo, this is all very troublesome to note and remember.

Where did you get all these info? Can share the link?
