I'm not sure about the REIT one since I don't bother checking (because I'm already weekly depositing anyway).

probly after 11am. usually i see will execute trade on same day if deposit be4 11am.

Thank you bros!

Looks like it's just the US equities part which is a bit more unpredictable since their timezone (and hence, market opening) is like 12 hours behind us :s22:

Oh sorry, just curious too...If I buy some US equities via Syfe on a Friday...will they also buy it on Friday itself? Or will it be delayed till the next Monday?

Thanks!

Hello.

I've been reading quite a few pages here on the discussions between Syfe and StashAway.

I'm surprised to read that most of you think Syfe's ARI have fundamental problems in not being opportunity seizing enough.

Im personally v new to investing and Syfe was the first company that popped up in my Sponsored.

But i think my greatest push to sign up w them is that their annual fees have really beat the market - 0.65%pa. I went to sign for each P/F, $500 principal. Small token to start off.

Just this week I also opened a Core Growth as soon as it came out.

  1. Cash+
  2. REIT+ (with Risk Management)
  3. Equity100
  4. Global ARI (19% Downside Risk)
  5. Core Defensive (eqv 19% Downside Risk)

After 1 week of portfolio exposure in each of the P/Fs they have,

I'm mostly back to where I began; gains within the week were negated against sudden losses within 2 days.

Everything except the REIT+ fluctuated, with my REIT+ solely facing losses continuously. Wonder if REIT+ market is just in a bad shape.

Currently my overall portfolio is -0.26% worthy than Principal.

Couple Questions

1. What would be a better time window to gauge performance? 1 month? 1 quarter?
2. What do u all think about Syfe overall?

I read across many spectrums of views here - i also read abt the StashAway's 36% risk - didnt know SA offers wider range of Risk (8% - 36%) vs Syfe (5 - 25%). Some prefer SA, some prefer Syfe - but is there an overall emerging player right now post-pandemic?

1) I think if you want to compare between different robos, a month or so will suffice. If it's to test on performance of individual portfolios, a slightly longer period may be needed? But with the market being so volatile at this timing, it's a good time to check on their performance to see how well they perform with the market trend.
2) I personally prefer Syfe overall than Stashaway. The only reason why I would try stashaway is because they are known to be more reputable. Also, with the new syfe core portfolio, it's likely that I will switch over from the stashaway 36 as syfe has lower management fees anyway and stashaway's gold allocation at 20% is abit at the higher end for me. But this is my personal preference.

so indeed, management fees really make a huge difference.

Ok la although im partially somewhat love trying new things. I have a long term interest in wanting to grow my $$ as well whilst I'm still single; even though the principal i put in now (total $2.5k) isn't everything I have.

I noticed many of you on SA, were more than willing to turn it up to the max of 36% risk - which really surprised me by how liberal most of you are. You all developed and inherently have good risk appetite?

Whilst i know investing early puts in favour of accepting larger risk since u can ride out the times; and that high risk gives chance of high returns - but given the post-pandemic volatity, is it still honestly a good idea to turn up ur risk so high?

I'm currently at 19% / 25%, moderately aggressive for the Global PF.

For me, the stashaway 36 already has 20% allocation of gold, which I think is good enough hedge for me. By lowering the risk, it just adds on extra bonds which although it lowers the volatility, it also lower the returns and I feel it's unnecessary if you are intending to hold your portfolio for long term.

You are not factoring dividend withholding tax, FX charges etc that buying a US etf incur.

The funds under Endowus 100% equities portfolio is as cheap (0.4%) as stashaway one (0.4%) https://thefipharmacist.com/syfe-equity-100-vs-stashaway/

If you deviate from their standard offering and want to pay higher fund fees through DIY in their more expensive unit trust, it's on you what.

endowus has alot of funds/unit trusts where the charges are expensive for sure.
Robos, even if there operate w Time diffce ,Still they r using etf (still cheaper)

I kinda agree that Endowus charges quite expensive fees for some of their funds...although I've signed up with Endowus, I haven't put in any funds yet. Still considering.

Growing my Syfe funds first...

U done the right thing!
Yes same here loh! I signed up endowus last yr (mid yr )but i deleted it away

B it whatever rebates and
How the other competitors’ charges , still i cannot find a compelling reason to go for endowus despite last yr was a gd chance
But i tried it this yr , mainly cos i wanna to experiment it and i wanna go into esg and esg
Hence i use Endowus for my small experimt cum esg (if not endowus will nt get a chance at all) *
Anyway i dislike the speed of endowus!!! Hated to the core and how they make depositing complex

I believed except
For those who purchased ireland domiciled us stks... if not most robos or fund mgrs will hve dividend withholding tax, FX charges etc as some Of u mentioned
(domiciled in Ireland only incur a 15% withholding tax instead of 30%)

StashAway believes that the higher tax you incur is a trade-off. StashAway still chooses US-domiciled ETFs as they are:

Cost-efficient
Simple
Low tracking error

For syfe eqty
You stil have to pay the ETF’s expense ratios as well just like other robos. Here are the expense ratios of some of the ETFs in Equity 100: fr 0.2-0.3%

*
Who knws stashaway also intro two esg etfs lately!!! https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/132895023-post3.html

They shd have done up the esg addition much earlier (it wasnt something new at all)
