just wanna ask if it’s possible to just boot up my pc with the 4080 just to verify on gpuz on my 4080(not gonna boot any games)?

It's an exceedingly power-efficient GPU. Based on my 4080 Gaming OC on a 1440p 240Hz monitor, under normal usage, during a boost the power usage is 40+W, streaming of youtube video is less than 20W and idle below 10W. Hence no issue just to verify.

Thinking to get either a 4080 or 4090 later this year. How's the issue with the power connector burning now?

For a period of time, there seems to be regular reports of the connectors burnt. But I dont come across these reports as frequent now.

Professional level PC building is required, inserting a power connector is extremely difficult and sensitive.

/sarcasm off.

If the user cannot plug in a power cable, it will burn. If you CAN plug in a power cable, its fine.
Moral of the story: Plug in properly, dont bend cable like crazy which causes the connector to loosen and come out

I think it is not a widespread problem, and as per findings, it is due to users not connecting the connector properly. I believe this problem is uncommon with the RTX 4080 due to limited numbers sold (lower sample size) since inception, and lower power draw.

DLSS or FSR, you generally won't be able to tell the difference unless they are poorly optimized for the game. Having said that, given that DLSS is only available to Nvidia hardware, and it can also use FSR 2.0, so it does give Nvidia hardware an advantage because some games don't offer both upscaling methods. Also if you are also referring to the frame generation tech, I think there are reviews out there that concluded that it is useful when the game is running at high FPS, so that you get less visual issues, and also good latency.
