Turbo memory is actually like a flash drive and nothing really fancy. Not sure of the long term effects of the life span of the memory for use of the OS there as they have limited read/write cycles.

Nothing can beat SSD though, but they are just too expensive atm.

Not only is 4GB a must for Vista, IMHO 64-bit is a must too, esp if u want to make full use of 4GB ram.

Anyone who is willing to plonk down $$$ for Robson, should just go to any shop and pick up a highspeed USB2 media like a good SD card or thumbdrive, then use Readyboost. The returns will be insignificant but on paper looks good (low access times, ideal for cache purposes).

My wife plays dota on vista-64 on her sager 8662 and runs banlist as well, I see no issue with her alt-tabbing to banlist and back.

I'm thinking of getting a sager 2098 from mucro... but the extra I have to pay for more than 1 year warranty compared to cubehub is pretty hefty. anyone bought extra warranty?

thinking whether to go cube cos warranty from there is free and longer.

acer? its a different story...if you check the notebookreview forums...those who got defective clevo products can even be counted using your hands...

clevo products sure maintain high quality control..this is one of main reason i choose sager/clevo than other compal notebook products

There is a BIG difference between the warranty we put in our actual page and cubehub's.

Cubehub's warranty is 4 years labour 3 years parts LOCAL by Cubehub and 1 year official SAGER warranty.

Our pricing gives you 3 years official SAGER warranty where we say its a "parts" warranty. Having a real Sager warranty gives you full assurance in case of trouble because they (Sager) are RESPONSIBLE for your trouble.

It is better to get a Sager warranty for a machine like the NP2098. The Sager warranties ARE EXPENSIVE because they know the true cost of warrantying the notebooks.
