I own both the Beam and Iphone 4. The beam with JH1 firmware and without any OC, is smooth and works without any problems at all. I tried playing "angry birds" on both phone and they are comparable, no disadvantage to the beam at all. I can say that the Beam's processor is adequate enough for today's apps. The advantages of the Iphone is its size and faster GPS connection as well as having more apps to play with.

Bad news Beam won't be getting Froyo... info from Samsung Mobile singapore page in Facebook

Quote: Samsung Mobile Singapore Hi Meng How, sorry to be the bearer of bad news: we just received an update from HQ and they have told us they will not be offering the Froyo update for Galaxy Beam, despite the many appeals that we have made to them :( As Galaxy Beam is only launched in SG, our customer base is too small to justify for the allocation of dedicated resources at HQ. We're checking on the accessories but it may not be good news either. We will keep you posted when we get an update.

1st time happen to browse other forum on the review on Beam. To my suprise, some give very poor review. Most reviewer define the con of this phone is due to slow in processing. e.g. every action took 3 sec to execute. Lagging.

Some reviewer even comment that it is their worst phone they ever bought in their life (no Samsung from now onwards) whilist, some reviewer mentioned he change to iphone within a few days of using Beam at his penalty:(

did samsung promise froyo for beam?

I recalled reading that beam was slated for froyo upgrade, and that is why i bought it. if not, why i the hell would i buy something that is not upgradable..

no more samsung, along with htc, i fell into same trap with htc HD, which wasnt upgradeable.

maybe i should succumb to iphone, its time.

There was never a confirmation that Beam was gonna get Froyo.. only that it was capable of being upgraded.

best is to go for iPhone if u always want the latest firmware.
android phones need for wait for manufacture to release and in our case samsung is not providing update.

Hello all,

I've updated to JH-1 firmware. The scrolling is much faster than before.

Sorry to hear no 2.2. for Froyo.

Samsung beam has DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine). When I get a decent I.E.M. & an amp, I feel the sound is awesome. How about HTC or I-phone?

The battery capacity is also pleasing me. :)

Don't give up. Continue to bombard them with your request for Froyo. Move them with your sincerity to watch flesh movie. I mean flash graphic.
