fold

realities of life.... you may not always get what you want even if you registered... hahahaha

even though Samsung did put a disclaimer

pre-registration of interest =//= confirmation

but what annoys me was Samsung communication to interested customers.

they did not even bother to have a follow up email to "acknowledge" our pre-registration of interest and subsequent "follow up" to inform us the outcome.. :vijayadmin:

Then whats the point of getting our name , email and contact details :(

Samsung can spend big bucks on marketing campaign but this kind of simple communication does not take a lot of effort from the company …

I support you on that. Do not even have an email to acknowledge that we registered successfully. It just show on the screen that registration is successful. What happen if you enter a wrong email, then you will never receive notification.

The darker colour inside the case.
1 long rectangle from TOP to bottom.

Will it get sticky after long use? If never remove will drop easily or not?

Sticker? A clear big one that was inside the case? I removed...

If refering to the darker color inside of the case, no. I believe that is to help ti adhere case to the phone better

I believe the leather will also be similar.
1 point to note on leather...when contact with water, it will age faster

Registered for the hands on not the phone itself. I registered and put Singtel, singtel sent email to me telling me saying thank you for your interest in the fold, currently it is out of stock and we are working with Samsung to bring in more stock, etc etc.

I’m not buying the phone without contract. I will feel very heart pain if I buy without contract. 3k.. even if I can afford I also don’t want. When I bought my Apple Watch Series 4 last 2 weeks at $1,029 after $200 discount I already feel heart pain liao, let alone 3k.

I think this Galaxy Fold qualifies as a 'soft launch' of sort, supply fell far short of demand from the looks of things, makes me wonder how many Fold was actually available at launch, and more importantly, how many were actually allocated to Sg? Kinda glad I'm the type who chiong, managed to score one, and in silver which is my preferred color.

Well, if you want a phone that holds its value well, it's iPhone......only due to all the iPhone sheep around. Even though I can well afford the best iPhone, I'll never EVAH buy one!

I don't think it's down to being 'picky' (if you're referring to Samsung), I think it boils down to worldwide supply.

You mean here got thousands of people buy meh?

🙄
Bro, we Singaporeans are pretty well known for buying into the latest and greatest when it comes to handphones and such.......almost regardless of price. That's why many of the latest gadgets get launched here because we gobble them up. I mean, just look at all the Apple/iPhone sheep and the amount of money that throw to get the latest and greatest iPhone, even heard there was a long queue for the iPhone 11.

Yes, I'd thrown a fair bit of cash at Samsung for the Fold, but it, at least, stands out from other regular handphones - including Note 10 and iPhone 11. I want something different, something innovative......and the Fold is innovative. Just checked with Samsung, I don't need to register my Fold (which means I can sell it for a huge profit to those who desperately want it....like some rich Indo/China Chinese....MuAhAhAhAh!:D I'm kidding of course) and warranty can be based on my receipt.

Yes, exactly! I have an S10+ and next to the Fold, the S10+ looks and feels kind of bland. I'd toyed with the idea of selling it for a tidy profit, but after only a few hours' use on Wednesday, that idea sort of faded into oblivion. So loving the look, feel and use of this phone.....

thousands of people is not many leh
Given that it's the most expensive phone out now (excluding niche phones like Vertu), it does say something, doesn't it? Also, bear in mind, as evidenced by posts here, that demand has exceeded supply with many willing to part with a wad of cash for the Fold.
