i've switched to samsung pay and have been working fine for a couple of days regardless of where i used it

Hi all,

Just to share my experience and fix on this.

Back story:
Bought a Local Watch 5 Pro (WIFI) in Jan2023. And pair with my Samsung Fold 3. All features are working well (Samsung Pay, ECG, etc...)

Then recently, bought a China Phone (Realme Gt Neo 5) to replace my Fold 3 then found out that I am unable to pair with my Watch 5Pro.

When setting up the watch in Galaxy Wearable, it prompt this error:

"This watch isn’t supported on this phone’

Google search this, even though there are many solutions, but none of them is working it for me. Was about to give up until I combine a few solution together and keep working on it Then finally manage to get Watch 5Pro pair successfully with China phone. The fix are as per below.

1) Uninstall Wear OS by Google, Galaxy Wearable, Galaxy watch 5Manager, watch plug in. Making sure, all these apps are uninstalled.

2) Using your china phone default app store (not google play) and install wear OS by google (china version). For mine, it is App Market. Otherwise, go find and install the wear OS by google (china version). Do not launch after install.

3) Next, Install these via Google Play
> Samsung health,
> Samsung Watch 5 plugging.
> Samsung wearable.

4) Go to your phone setting, making sure all these 4 apps (Wear OS, Samsung Health, watch 5 plug in, Galaxy wearable) are able to run in the background. These apps need to run continuously in the background in a non-restrictive environment [till your watch is paired]. So if you placed any background limitations related to battery or network, then please remove them right away

5) Launch the Chinese Wear OS app and pair. Once paring is done. Launch the Galaxy Wearable. Now your watch should be setup and pair successful with phone.

6) If step 5 fails. Use this step. Instead. Repeat Step 1-4. Then launch Samsung health, go settings, select Accessories > select your watch from the list and proceed with the on-screen instructions.


Eventually, I managed to sync my watch. Note. I am unsure, which method (1-5 or 1-4,6) did for me. But I managed to connect my china phone with Watch 5 pro.

One thing to note, Samsung Pay cannot work. I have yet to go figure out as not using Samsung Pay on my watch.

Yea, I am thinking of getting one in Korea when holidaying next month.

Wonder if there's any other drawback other than Samsung Pay, which I don't use...and warranty of cos.

Can consider getting from Qoo10 from Korea seller and stack all the vouchers. Drawback is warranty claims need to bear cost to ship back to Korea. Other than that no big issue

Yup need to open the Google wallet app. I set the top button double press to open the app.

Have you installed the Samsung health monitor app? If install liao still cannot see these 2 options, maybe your watch is not local set so don't have these 2 options.

no local set can't monitor health like heart &spo2 ?

Why all u guys seen like don like to use samsung pay? I think it quite handy leh...I added all my member card (watson and those bubble tea) and all my credit card into it, so nowadays I don really bring my wallet, just siap one $50-100 behind my phone case then go out without wallet.

And I only manage to link watch 5 pro to my china phone. But Samsung pay unable to use on the watch.
