its a fact that their cards are abit overpriced and only have 10 years warranty. others are much cheaper and lifetime warranty.

the water-proof, shock proof etc all these other cards also have. only gd thing is their cards are more reliable than others but expensive.

For new users..... 1 tend get be confused with the different packaging

An easy way is to ignore the packaging and look at the colours of the memory cards instead.

Black: Class 4
Blue: Class 6 (fast)
Orange: Class 10 (faster)
Grey: Class 10 "higher grade" (fastest)

But for other manufacturers apart from Samsung?

long term wise they need to justify why consumer willing to pay more for Samsung Evo / Pro series memory card compare to Kingston/sandisk/toshiba etc :)

water proof wise think your device will GG first before your card inside the device get to test whether it can withstand water

I think all memory cards can withstand water, not just Samsung.

actually all microsd cards are similar no matter Samsung / Kingston / Sandisk unless you going for high speed memory card thus you need to bother about their read/write speed or else most impt factor to consider is the price

And you just rendered Samsung's justification for higher prices invalid :s13::s13::s13:
how often your microsd will pass thru xray in a day = Xray proof
how often your microsd will drop into water in a day = Water proof
how often your microsd will operate in much higher / lower temperature = temperature proof
how often your microsd will withstand impact on them(especially if your microsd is inside your device) = withstand impact

:p hopefully i dont kanna zapped haha
