It's not about the amount mah, it should be about fairness of the system. If the system is not fair, meaning the person in charge can award his/her friend/relative for other transactions even if it does not qualify for Samsung Pay promotion?

Same thing, I can always have a $100k bill, but to play safe, I try small amounts first, then if previous amounts all awarded, then you tell me the bulk cannot be awarded, then something is not right here.

yap. the best thing is that the 1x points has been awarded but not the 9x points. since the promo referred back to the basic card agreement to determine the issuance of the points with no additional condition, the 9x points should be awarded so long as the 1x points have been awarded.

u are totally right in promotion sense.
but i think because of your case, they decided to change the whole ballgame.
if they even honor yourself lucky, else they could do something to u like what i say previously.

last resort get the merchant to reverse the whole transaction by using another card to pay to prevent future impact.
weigh your pro and cons

All my 1x points do have the additional 9x points for Samsung Pay or the 10x or 20x promotion currently, so it is quite easy for me to check. Unless the 1x did not even post at all, didn't use this card if there is no promotion.

Also, where does it says that the transaction must be retail?

From https://www.citibank.com.sg/global_docs/pdf/Accelerator_Terms_and_Conditions.pdf

9 Citi Dollars will be awarded for every S$1 spent on retail purchases (as defined in the Cardmember’s Agreement.)

Then here: https://www.citibank.com.sg/global_docs/prod/cc/visaplat/cardmember_agreement.pdf

Retail purchase means a purchase of any goods or services by the use of the card and may, at our reasonable discretion and with reasonable notice, include any card transaction as may be determined by us.

Lol. As per below, already considered retail by system, that's why issued the 1 Citi Dollar per S$1 charged, tell them system should over-right them.

5. ISSUANCE OF CITI DOLLARS
5.1 Under the Program, cardmembers will receive, on a monthly basis, Citi
Dollars which will be credited to his card account at the rate of 1 Citi
Dollar for every S$1 charged to his card account for retail purchases:

Anyone tried at AIG counter? I've got a $4k+ insurance bill to pay.

Ignore those faces.

There was one time I pump petrol then told them I left my wallet at home. So it's either SamsungPay or they can start sucking the petrol out of my fuel tank.

Usually, I just reach over, MST my card over then tell them, see credit card number is inside system, please proceed to charge it.

Anyone tried at AIG counter? I've got a $4k+ insurance bill to pay.

AIG counter says they only process full payment with credit card by computer (ie only key in card number, I wonder what happens if they key in the virtual card number, if bank's system will detect as Samsung Pay, since it is the same card number, time to go get my virtual card number and start spending see what happens). Their credit card terminals are all Citibank ones, which I've never had a problem doing SPay, but the counter person claims that is only for installment plans only.

Not that difficult to use lah. Just that some older machine don't accept and some merchant quite adverse to new tech.

problem is old machine. Best if there could be a list of the old machines so that once we see it, we know cannot use.

I know NUH machines mostly CMI. GV got sign saying don't support Android/Samsung/Apple Pay. But the machines all look similar, for those that I got denied as well as those that approved ones.

You have to separate. There is an upper limit of 3-4K per "swipe".

And make sure you get both the Visa and MC cards.

Sorry, thought there was no limit for MST transactions. Kindly enlighten me, or whoever have experience on this (charging over limit to get rejected but able to charge on same machine with lower amounts)?
