As I said earlier, I think Citibank only moves it from pending to unbilled in batches. I had experiences where several merchants charged on different dates all got moved at one go out of pending after about 3-5 days. Cannot be all so zhun zhun post at the same time.

My bad guys. It seems my transaction wasn't billed yet. Still under pending.
Don't know why this merchant not interested in collecting money sooner. :D

Yes in theory it is for all purchases, but sometimes award allocation is inconsistent and requires follow up with the customer service to get them. Still, you should go for it.

But for this Samsung pay promotion, I am assuming that the 10x rewards(4x miles) will be for any sort of purchases? Have you seen these amount of rewards credited to you?

I should probably consider just getting it if this is the case. Got 2-3 more big purchases coming in by end year.

Thanks for the advice.

I was going thru their TOC:
https://www.citibank.com.sg/global_docs/pdf/Accelerator_Terms_and_Conditions.pdf

"9 Citi Dollars will be awarded for every S$1 spent
on retail purchases (as defined in the Cardmember’s Agreement.)"

"The additional 9 Citi Dollars will not be awarded for transactions that
already earn the bonus rewards points under the"

I am assuming that
the 1st part is for 9+1. Samsung Pay gives 9pts and 1pt from the usual per $1 spent.

And the 2nd part is referencing to their usual bags, shoes and clothes?

Been using the same citi card on samsung pay at giant regularly. Yesterday didn't went thro. Do not honour. Restart phone last night.
This morning tried again. Cannot also

Something wrong at backend? Both instances used physical card and went thro

Just tried SPay with Citibank Rewards VISA again this morning, same thing, do not honor. Citibank Premier Miles VISA with SPAY works well. But that's 2 miles per $ instead of 4.

Paywave at One Kent Ridge BK.

Either is that card or I got too much points from S Pay from that card?

Editted: my other non-SPAY transactions on that card also got rejected.
I also having problems using my Citi Rewards Visa on Samsung Pay. I tried on 2 different merchants both using the Citibank paywave machines. I held my phone for a few seconds more even though the screens were showing "Remove card" but the transactions were rejected. I used my physical Citi Rewards Visa with one of the merchants with one merchant and another physical cc with another merchant. Both times the merchants choose to insert the physical card and the transactions got through.

I called Citibank and was told I have to hold longer for authorisation to go through after a long waiting time for its check. :s11: I am still waiting for an outcome on the reason after I disagree with the finding and told them I have held long enough.

For those of you having problem with Samsung Pay and the Citi Rewards Visa, did you try using the Citi Rewards MC instead?

I don't have the MC version as I did not want to have 2 separate cards from the same bank with similar rewards. :s22:

I noticed that the app was prompting for an update when I tried to use Samsung Pay again this evening. After updating, it still failed. I deleted the Citi Rewards Visa from my Samsung pay and added it back again. It seems to be working fine for now.

Just wondering, can the virtual card number be used online and get the same 10x rewards on non-fashion purchase?

I'm not sure, how do you even see the virtual card number? I can only see the last 4 digits but I didn't dig further to see.

But glad that the Visa is now working for you.

I'll try this tonight, this maybe resets the CVV number on the virtual card? Btw, is the new virtual card number same as the old one?

The machine that keys in the amount will sometimes reflect the full 6 digits numbers and some will even show the expiry date of the virtual card too.

The virtual card number will change each time you delete and add it again on Samsung Pay.

Lol, I had to reset the dynamic CVV, then delete and re-add the card into Samsung Pay, for the card to work.

Has anyone tried using MST payment with supposedly "EMV only terminals"?

Some merchants here claim that their terminals don't support magnetic swipe.
Must insert the card and use the chip. But you can clearly see the swiping mechanism on their terminals. They claim it is not activated.

Any comments?

Samsung pay MST confirm only work with the swiping part right?
Won't work with EMV?

If it is EMV only (chip based), there's no way you can use MST which is magnetic based.

However, as you say, many merchants claim magnetic not working but I'll ask them "what if a foreigner comes here without a EMV chip card, then how you charge"?

Most of the time, it is just ignorance rather than the terminal not supporting magnetic swipe. I'll just tell them, let me try. I'll then hold the phone at the magnetic part, and watch the magic unfold in their eyes as they wonder in amazement how did it go through.
