today tried Spay at 2 shops in vivo
1) super old looking machine. nothing happened on the right side.
2) 1 machine look ok, but payment cant be effected. then switch to another machine and works beautifully but need CVV.

still many hoops for spay

how is SP Power now? still ok for SPay?

Should still be chargeable at SP Power. My last time think is just nice my card got blocked after the first transaction.

The problem is we don't know which terminal types can't be used with SPay.

Lol, I had to reset the dynamic CVV, then delete and re-add the card into Samsung Pay, for the card to work.

Okay will try this out.

I read about someone using 000. Didn't work for my case but the physical card's CVV worked perfectly fine.

yes, few times kana liao. i always remember the card cvv (3 digit) and it always goes thru.

i dont understand what is this spay give the 4 digits to the cashier? doesnt work at all

MST and NFC are separate function, at least on the on/off part? I've never had too much trouble with MST while NFC is on.

Editted: Just got a call from Citibank, saying that one will need to delete and re-add the card in this case, if you know the transaction should go through, but did not.

I noticed that all the terminals issued by Diners Club have problems n can't accept.

Yes, but if you read my posts, my issue was at SP Power, I went to charge a few transactions within 1 hour, 1st one went through, the next ones did not. Even paywave at Watsons for $4 got denied.

The 4 digits is just the number of the last 4 digits of your virtual card. You can use it to prove that the card which payment has gone through is indeed your card. Till date, no cashier has ever checked or asked.

If it is EMV only (chip based), there's no way you can use MST which is magnetic based.

However, as you say, many merchants claim magnetic not working but I'll ask them "what if a foreigner comes here without a EMV chip card, then how you charge"?

Most of the time, it is just ignorance rather than the terminal not supporting magnetic swipe. I'll just tell them, let me try. I'll then hold the phone at the magnetic part, and watch the magic unfold in their eyes as they wonder in amazement how did it go through.

Just wanted to report back that today, I tried using spay MST on this same supposedly "EMV only" terminal.
And it went through.

So next time, as vince has mentioned, just tell them you would like to try.
Ignore their ignorance (no pun intended).

didn't get 10x for one of my samsung pay transactions (using rewards card) and sent a mail to citibank. they came back saying it is because the merchant is not considered to be eligible under the 10x points. I think the officer handling my enquiry is not aware of the samsung pay promo. waiting for them to get back to me after i clarified that i was referring to the samsung pay 10x promo and not the usual 10x promo for citibank rewards card.

Had the same experience. Ask them to escalate to the supervisor or manager. That's the way I got mine credited.

Thanks for sharing. Shall escalate if the customer service officer still come back saying the txn is not eligible.

seem to find the pre installed IR Blaster app for aircon remote at all. Pls can someone assist me

I noticed that all my transactions since 18th Nov, did not get the points credited. This is for both Paywave and MST terminals.

Find a 3rd party app. Usually is the default app is called Peel remote.

I didn't check mine in detail. But random checks shows they credited plus the big amounts also credited.
