My Sandisk Fuze's battery is dying. It used to easily last 10 hrs, but now cant handle 4hrs.
Anybody tried replacing the internal battery?BTW where to purchase it?Don't think it's selling here, since the local authorised dealer Vector Magnetics stopped carrying ages ago..

My fuze is almost 2 yrs old.Last yr the earphone jack loosen and I tried opening it up, and short-circuited it in the process. Somehow, the RMA accept it and changed one for me.So, this set is a refurbished set. The battery lasted 8 months.
The thing about buying from USA is that they don't ship to Singapore, unless you find a way to get around it,eg using vpost or similar. It's so much hassle.
Now my next challenge is,when I get a new battery, how am I going to change it?Its very difficult to open the case, and will damage the paint work in the process. Heart pain. I love my fuze.

I believe you can buy from those bros who shipped them over from Amazon US but the price will be much higher. Standard Clip+ is already $70, so Fuze should be just a little under $100. Not sure though.

I don't think any of them have left over stocks . Most of them shipped in Fuze+ that I do know .

Bro why dun you get a clip+ or zip for songs. I believe the screen is too small for videos right. Anyway just curious, is the fuze better than the zip and + audio wise?

Glad to see so many Sandisk mp3 players fans here.I'm one of them.
I bought my Fuze from one of the forumer here..Can't rem the name.Nice chap who gave me a fuze's case as well.I bought it for $120.Heard that due to the popularity as well as out of production, the prices has gone up.

The fuze was one of the best mp3 players sandisk has made.I especially like the rotating wheel. It gave a real feel of the controls. The screen is of cos too small for watching video, but it provides a good screen for the player's menu, rather than the dull one the clip + has.

I have also bought a Fuze + when I sent in my Fuze for RMA.The touch panel was bad.Really tested my patience.Keep overshooting the menu when I scrolled it.I got rid of it as soon as I got my Fuze back.

Well,I have ordered a battery from ebay. Cost $23+. I hope I won't screw up the repair. If I do,then I probably will buy a Clip-Zip.The reviews looked good for this.

As for the audio,I understand that they have preserved the audio chip for all the players, old or new, from the Clip onwards. So I guessed it shouldn't differ too much. In any case,my $15 philips earphones are too average to be a good judge in audio quality. But the reviews can't be wrong.

you should get something better then. The Dunu Trident is a reasonably priced earphone that has good reviews :)

Oh ya.....get a better earphones. World of differences.

Will lineout provide a substantial improvement?
How is the j3 compared to clip+ audio wise?

Yes .

Wider soundstage , better and deeper bass and more accurate instruments separation i would say .

Thanks for the recommendations.Prior to this, I've never heard of "Dunu Trident".For me,the audio quality doesn't really matter since I use my Fuze to record radio prog, convert to mp3 and playback again. As long as the audio is not like those $5 made in China type with a muffled sound, its good enough for me.I'm not willing to spend too much on a set of earphones, especially the way I use it,the cable will loosen in less than 1 year.Any recommendations for earphones of decent quality around $20 or so?

like to hear some opinion on the differences between clip+ and zip

i would like to get one and don't mind the additional $10 for a zip.
but, seems that from this thread, it mentioned zip rockbox is not as matured.

i'm looking for better sound quality.
can anyone advise is there a noteable difference in sound quality between clip+ and zip ... before and after rockbox?'

thanks!!!!

I was like you also, 20 bucks earphone was fine until I changed to a creative ep630. Started hearing stuff that I never noticed considering the ep630 were not the best at that range. Recently bought a creative headphones and more details came out. Now considering tf10 sold in the marketplace. up budget abit and look in the forum, might find some gems.

Difference Between zip and clip+ is the screen size and color. Haven't rock box the zip yet so can't comment on that.
