IMHO, they can have the old Q system and like wise have the 95% and 5% ratio for the 1st timers and 2nd timers. or what ever ratio.

They are just lazy to do it and everything leave it to the computer to do their work.

Yes got a number which is out of the number of flat supplied.

What abt ur good self? Do you have a Q number?

:)Got queue but out of number of flat supplied:(:(
You get 300 or 400 queue number :s8:

there is a high chance that you will be called for sep sobf. if you give up again, ur 1st timer privilege will be gone. if you dont mind the lower levels or those not preferred flats in sep sobf, it is good to just wait for your turn to come. u will be asked to forfeit only after u have selected a flat.

I was thinking since nov BTO coming up, if i ballot will still be consider as 1st timer.

but once i got a number, given that if i am being called up for Sep SOBF but i don choose.. will they take it tat my nov balloted number is base on 1st timer queue but was on bar for 1st timer number and hence be foreited?

Very high. there might be drop-outs. and if there r alot of 2nd timers who applied for your area, then there might be some who will not get to choose afterall.

Hi Coolgirl, what do you mean that "if there r alot of 2nd timers who applied for your area, then there might be some who will not get to choose afterall"?

I got my number exceeded by 25. I thought those in front me will have the chance to select a flat regardless of 1st timer or 2nd timer.

Isn't it the 95% 1st timer & 5% 2nd timer only taken into account while balloting for a queue number? I never know that selection of flat got 1st timer priority.

your story is similar to my story...but we sacrificed our privacy and staying in-laws 3room hdb flat with our kids to save the rental..and still i cant beleive my eyes that i got one better q no for sengkang. I open the hdbpage chk again and again whether i got 4X or 4XX..haha...:)
Yes yes. It doesn't matter how ulu the sengkang area we are taking or which floor level. So long we have a place to call it our home. Had 2 kids already. If still no place to settle them down, really don't know what kind of environment we are going to bring them up as time goes by. But finally! Such a relief for us now. Applied with a normal heavy heart, thinking all the negatives. But pop by HDB website to check ytd and shockness! We got it! For ppl who are still trying and did not get a good Q, do not be devastated! Always think positively. But I think the opposite. lol. Is up to you how you see it. We look at it with a normal no chance heart and end up?! Got a Q. Good luck for those who are trying.. Quit going to the MP. It's wasting of time and they won't help. They can't do much also because HDB will always reply you tht they have to be fair to everyone bla bla bla.. I walked through that path before and understand its simply torturing. Ended up we stopped. If its yours, it yours yeah? Goodluck ;)

Would there be a difference between the old Q system and the current BTO system? Bcos for both, the applicants would have to wait upto three years for their turn.

:DIf you ask me I do said queue system is good everyone, chance is equal and able to select flat...last time my brother
in 1996 go apply and wait about one year plus then get it...the 5 rm at sengkang only cost 193k..:DLast time is easy not much population...you can see how tough next generation will be not juz flat even in job...hahaha...

:)Happened to meet one of my old frenz...he was upgrade from 4rm to 5rm only cost 300k plus in 2006.... there is no problem to get flat ...

Wonder if the next generation can even afford a HDB in the future.. (Unless the bubble bursts)

According to what i understand, 2nd timers will only be allocated 5% of the flat supply. And if there are 200 units, only 10 2nd timers who will get to select. There might be 30/50/80 2nd timers in the queue before u. so u got a chance...

I thought that the Q numbers are already allocated accordingly?
meaning that be it 1st or 2nd tmers are already line up according to the allocated Q number?

if the selection starts only in jan 2013, u should still qualify for 1st timer when applying for nov bto. if selection starts nov 2012 and u give up, ur application for nov bto might be counted as 2nd timer. can call hdb for confirmation...

Skjh7, i have the same thinking with you. The queue number had already covered the 1st timer 95% & 2nd timers 5% allocation. For what I understand, for eg. 2000 queue numbers being given out, 1900 numbers (95%) goes to 1st timer & 100 numbers (5%) goes to 2nd timer. Therefore, the queue number we got from HDB is the final & there is no priority to 1st timer during the selection anymore.

What do you think?

:eek:According to yishun SOBF for 3-room Premium / 4-room:)

:DThe number of flat supplied is 207...1st timer is 1.5 time while 2nd timer is 48 time:eek::s8:total applicant received 781...=:p;)

What are you trying to say? I look at the info it was correct. The 1st timer 1.5 time & 2nd timer 48 time is base on the total units available allocated to the 95% 1st timer & 5% 2nd timer.

What I mean is once you get the queue number (out of range), all you need to hope is the drop out rate of the ppl in front is high regardless of 1st or 2nd timer. There is no better chance if most of the ppl in front are 2nd timer.

the 95% and 5% system is given to limit flat supply for diff group of applicants, i believe. it is not used for selecting the number of ppl eligible for ballot. For eg. if there are only 200 supply units and there are 100 2nd timers, will all of them get to select? no, only 10 of them will get....cause there is 95% and 5% rule...u can read the bottom of the page where it shows no. of applications received for sep sbf.

ya noticed about that too. i guess maybe people dont want to use their precious 1st timer chance to get 2 room flat only (1 bedroom right?, so if have kid it won't be enough sooner or later)

but if no kid yet, can get that first and then use 2nd timer chance to try to upgrade to 3/4 rm bto flat within 5 years. too much hassle maybe

at first i also think i want to try my luck to get 3 rm, 4rm, 5rm, so that 5 years later i can make better profit by selling.
i've wasted many years by trying my luck. finally i ended up with 2 rm, i have my own roof to stay. guys who badly need a house please consider.

:s8:For my analysis, the number of flat is 207...the 197 units for 1st timer while 10 units for 2nd timer...Base on the 1.5 time for 1st timer is about 296 applicant apply while 48 time for 2nd timer about 480 applicant...:D
Even got pple drop out, 1st timer will go to 1st timer and 2nd
timer will go to 2nd timer if not how to explain the allocation rate of 1.5 time for 1st timer...I think the queue number will
group in 1st or 2nd timer:)
