So your definition of "you need to spend more" is 100k/annum?

why would i spend 100k/annum on this card and waste it beyond what it can offer in return? it's not even a high end card, lulz...

if i can spend 100k, i wouldn't even use this card to begin with
if i can spend 100k, such petty little fee wouldn't even be of a concern in the first place

My Spree card din get waiver.. so I just canceled it...

Same, first they dont want to waive my Manhattan card, but i suck thumb lan lan because the cashback is very good and the card is no longer offered.

Now they refuse waiver for my spree again, and im gonna cancel this one coz it's getting stupid.

I was rejected by the automated fee waiver, and rejected again by the CSO. A quick question, can I just pay all my outstanding amount excluding the $180 annual fee before I cancel my card?

Just cancel card lor, you can probably get better rebate using other cards.

Just cancel, also happened to me, looks like they are getting strict with waiver.

Do you have more than 1 SCB CC?

If yes, did you have any spending on the other CC?


Could it be SC bank wants us to keep just one SCB CC?

Anyhow, nowadays still possible to cancel it, and re-apply again?

UPDATE (27 Feb 2020): Just gotten waiver of Annual Fee for Spree CC. Usual average monthly spending about $80. Highest about $300+.
Also have Unlimited ** CC; fee waived in Aug 2019. Average spending only around $10/mth.

At some point the annual fee is more worth it than switching to another card. It may not always be an automatic cancel decision because you didn't get a waiver.

Except for premium cards that actually pay you a ton of miles for paying the annual fee, this is never true. Cancel and consider other options.
