Hi all, what is the rebate cap? The T&C is confusing - point 6. Thanks!

"The maximum Spree Cashback awarded for any month is capped at S$60 per Spree Card account except that for a month which begins on or after 12 July 2021, the maximum amount of Spree Cashback awarded for such a month is capped at S$30 per Spree Card account."

Assuming you do only local spending that gives 2% cashback ... the local spending cap is $30 / 2% = $1500.

Anyone recently used Spree with iPayMy? I just used it for my first iPayMy payment, and statement came in only showed 1% cashback. While I lodged a service request with the CSO, would like to check if anyone see the TnCs changed for iPayMy.

Same here, was expecting 2% but got 1% instead. What did the CSO say?

the email header sent to cardholders kinda misleading at first ‘discontinuation of spree credit card’. thought the card will be gone.
read further and realise its just rebranding; cashback remains the same, just that singpost privileges will be dropped.

Dunno why the banks are rushing to release new apps nowadays. UOB's new app is so slow and lacks features. Now this bank. Their IT departments are not fully testing all scenarios before releasing? or their competence level has declined?

Since SPREE card is discontinued, please stop using SPREE card 2 to 3 months before annual fee is due to avoid forfeiting cashback. Highly likely StanChart will not waive your annual fee because they want you to cancel the card.

They are just changing the card design and removing the SingPost branding.

Will there be any changes to the Spree Credit Card benefits after 7 April 2023 and will I enjoy the same benefits with the new Spree card face?

You can continue to earn:
  • 3% cashback on all online spend in foreign currency and all vPost spend
  • 2% cashback on all online spend in local currency, all contactless and mobile payments
  • 1% cashback on all other retail spend
However, the following SingPost privileges will no longer be available from 7 April 2023:
  • 25% off standard shipping on vPost with promo code “SPREESP”
  • 5% off SmartPac box and Poly M at Post Office
  • 10% discount off packing material at Post Office with minimum $30 purchase
  • 10% discount at Philatelic Store with minimum $30 purchase
  • 5% discount on shop.singpost.com with no minimum spend
What will happen to the cashback I have earned on my Spree Credit Card?

You will continue to earn the same cashback. Any cashback earned on the Spree Credit Card is posted to the Card account and will automatically be used to offset any outstanding balances on the credit card.

I know. But they stopped issuing new SPREE cards. Just like Manhattan card when it was no longer issued. They don't waive the annual fee to make you cancel the card.

Manhattan was completely dropped, Spree is coming back with a redesign. In fact, current card holders will automatically be issued the new card in coming months.
Why would SCB go through all that effort just to force existing users to cancel their card?

actually I think they have just temporarily cease new applications while they redesign the card

This is nonsense lah. Im holding on to TWO Manhattan cards and havent used them for 6-7 years liao. No annual fees issue at all.
