so...guys..how ah? Answer still not very clear leh...if i get a refund in a new statement month.. and my current outstanding become $300.00 CR in my favor. Do i need to spend $900 to fulfill the 7% requirement instead of $600? Pretty sure CSO wont give me a correct answer, better ask for real life experience.

just spend 600. bcos the bank look at your 'spend' ie Debit only.

Pretty sure refund is counted as a deduction from current month spending.

We have received and acknowledge your email dated 27th November 2015 with regards on your inquiry on Credit Card SG50 Sign-Up Cashback Promotion.

According to our reference, your SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card xxxxx has been approved on xxx October 2015.

However, you are not eligible for the promotions as the credit card application was done via online channel.

This is a shocker given both:
a) the website was advertising the cashback promotion and
b) I called them after activating my card to inquire and confirm that my exact card number was eligible for the $50 cashback promotion before I bought the Xbox One that same evening.

Let's see what they come back with - I would have expected the call to be recorded too.

You may have gotten another default promo if apply online. When I applied the running promo was some useless singpost vouchers, so I applied thru a human being to make sure that I got the sg50 promo

Paying Statement Balance vs Outstanding Amount

My last CC stmt had amount payable of $1200.

Subsequently, refunds for canceled hotel bookings were posted online after CC stmt date.

When I called CSO to check, he said I can just pay the Outstanding Amount (ie Stmt Amount less refunds & rebates credited after Stmt date).

I didnt know previously as I always pay the Statement Amount, instead of the latest Outstanding Amount based on internet banking status.

The thing I don't like about SCB's outstanding amount reflected on is that iBanking it includes any unbilled transactions you made also. Not like other banks that tell you exactly how much is payable for this cycle

Ah I see. Good point to remember. Luckily I dont have any unbilled item.

Just to check, the scenario now is you also spend at least $400-$500+ on other things in the statement month? When is your statement date, before or after 11Dec?

I did the same by confirming with the CSO before i made my online purchase. When i called in to ask how long would the $50 cashback take, they told me the same answer. I said no where in the T&C states that online application is not eligible and on top of that, i did my due diligence by confirming that i would be eligible BEFORE i made my purchase. They checked the recording and (unwillingly) credit the $50 as an exceptional (/rolleyes) basis.
