July figures are inclusive of SOBF for 2 rooms. This month if add in SOBF 2rms, the applicants does not decrease a lot. :)

total number for july got sobf 2 room? i cannot rem. but total was 19k. let take out the single and compare the normal bto to bto... just a rough look, this sep bto is alot lower..

take Mar 2013 bto for example. it is more than 10k without single...

so i roughly do a simple calculation... it seems like sep bto, excluding sobf, is all time low for 2013

There will be a big development in tampines in near future, part of the exhibition still being displayed at hdb hub, together with matilda and bidadari.

regarding the sobf next month, it's already been announced in news. 3000 plus units.

Yah, I have a lot of friends waiting for the Tampines area (cos most of us stay Pasir Ris) and heard that it's gonna be near Ikea area. Honestly location is not that feasible for me, but seems like I keep hearing about this Tampines one to be launched next year, haha.

Maybe if I still have yet to select a flat by then, will consider that area. But Punggol is still my no 1 choice, I really am in love with the estate.

If taken out singles and sobf, jul bto about 10k, sep bto about 8.5k, which is not really a big drop of 15%.

I saw this on HDB website

Non-selection of Flat

From the July 2013 Build-To-Order exercise onwards, Second-timer applicants and First-timer singles who do not book a flat twice when invited to do so will have to wait out one year before they can participate in any HDB sales exercises.

Means first-timer will not be affected? and first timer will no longer be downgraded to 2nd timer if they reject twice?

just to add on for the second timer (as I am one now), if the queue number received by second timer is out of the allocated num of units (for example queue num 900 out of 800 units), but they are still call up for selection due to several units left, they can still reject the selection and it will not be considered as 1 time rejection. Right??
unless their queue number is within the allocated units (example queue num 600 out of 650 units) and they reject twice then they cannot participate in any HDB sales exercises for 1 year.
Am I right?

by right even if your queue number is very big of more than 2 or 3 times of allocated units and u were called for selection, you will be considered as 1 time rejection if u reject. however, if there's only several units left for selection and u reject, u can appeal and they may consider not to be counted as rejection on case by case basis.

This new rule affected first time SINGLEs and all 2nd timers. The rule for other 1st timers remained unchanged. 1st timer if rejected twice will be considered as 2nd timer for one yr.

This new rule is to plug the loopholes that 2nd timers last time got nothing to lose when they don't select the flat for many times as they were still remained as 2nd timers, could not downgrade to 3rd timer. :)

:)I do not know 2nd timer rejected twice will be stop for 1 year and the news never official announce If I do not come to this forum will not know...=:p

:s8:They also no logic since 2nd timer only allocation 15% for non mature estate and 5% for mature estate...:(Most drop out is from 1st timer not 2nd timer....how many percentage can 2nd timer got chance to select flat:s13::D

the 2nd timer if reject 3rd time will not be able to apply for 1 year was reported in the news around July.

and to edesenjavier's query, no it's not true. nowadays HDB is adopting a much more harsh stance and is penalising applications even if the no. of units left is only <20 and the poor chap's number is more than 2-3 times oversubscribed. I was that poor chap and my first-timer status got removed this way, so i know :)

and for those who say go appeal la, been there done that. SG govt screwing genuine young couple homebuyers sighh

I'm trying to feel your pain... although this is my first application, i'm still unsure if i want to reject if im left with like 2nd or 3rd level... (me and fiancee prefer 5th level and onwards).

If you are not in a rush, make a wise decision. Nowadays the flat is not like u stay 5-10 yrs and you changed.. must prepared to stay for long period.

However if you are like me, I applied in march.. left 5th,6th floor but face road, applied in july get some shitty number(slightly over the limit only) prolly also will left shitty units.. im on the verge of dropping to 2nd timer =(

I was quite lucky in a sense that I applied for March Punggol BTO, my number exceeded the number of flats (40x/251) and on the day before my selection, the very last unit got selected (only 1 unit left for selection at L2).

Thank god for me, my application was considered cancelled and not as 1 rejection. :s22:

same here man. applied in march left 3-4 floors now. mine was the last 2nd day of selection. end up too many drop out in front so left alot of units. they just have to take away my 1 chance. i'm left with 1 chance too hope this BTO can get a good number.

So assuming if i gotten my q number that it within or slightly out of the allocated units, and the call up selection is beyond nov bto application window, can i still apply for nov bto? If yes, will there be a scenario that i might get nov bto q number before sept bto selection?

Yes, possible. Only if your nov queue no. is really small. but this is subjected to each BTO. Each BTO begins selection on different dates.

Well my requirement is really easy. So long as the q number is at the 50 percentile will be good enuogh.
