BYD China just launch a new replacement model of the SL6. Just hope local AD don’t bring it in, in the next 2-3 years if not value tank.

Those Xpeng G6 buyers are facing this problem now. 1 year old car and AD bring in newer model.
Yup. They bringing in Sealion 7 Cat A variant soon. Those that just brought Sealion 6 n 7 Cat B must be damn tu lan. Typical Ah Tiong style of doing business. Ah Tiong think sinkies can change cars like changing underwear. :ROFLMAO:

Unless one dont mind to pay higher road tax n insurance. Looked at Seal n Atto 3....pple prefer the more pocket friendly version...aka Cat A.

Ya perhaps. If got mercs S160 or bmw 712, sure sell like hotcakes.

Unlikely..probably just very near to each other.

There will always be those that go for ice or hybrid 2litres car..the road tax cheaper than EV cat b.

As in any other EV, the advertised range is always BS..actual mileage depend on one's foot. This is just like asking ice/hybrid owners how many km they get per litre of petrol :s39:

Ya, it depends on how fat the passengers are, what aircon temperature setting, time idling in with aircon on etc, city or highway driving.

If give you one car foc,

would you want continental car, korean car or byd ?
Is the continental car an EV? Since the Europeans are nowhere near leaders in EV tech, I will still go for BYD, or Tesla. Korean is a non starter.

even before our green rebate grant, BYD priced M6 at SGD220k. take away the paper, it is at SGD120k which is RMB660k (which I dont understand why they have the courage to set that price level). The didi drivers in china probably paid only RMB100k which is probably around SGD18k.

The maths is pretty straight forward. Anything that comes to our shores will auto mark up multiple times cause Sgreans can pay.
Mark-up? Those are the business profits for taking risk mah. If so profitable why don't you go and setup a shop to sell BYD also? BYD has already appointed a few (not one) dealers in Singapore, so BYD is Ok to have a few dealers (not let one and only dominate).

By the way, OMV of a BYD M6 is S$29,800, and total basic costs (after ARF and GST/Excise Duty and after adding COE) is already S$140,430 !!!

You can compare that to a Mercedes GLA180 where OMV is S$38,152 and total basic costs =S$196,768.

But seriously, Mercedes GLA180 is a thin can powerless car with 1.3L engine that will have problem climbing Genting Highlands' slopes!

It’s about branding, pricing la
If today BYD exclusive, sell for 500k then everyone will say it’s very good also 😂
Singaporeans have the mentality that "Expensive" means always "Better" than "Cheap" is it? 🤭
No wonder so many got chop "carrot heads" buying Hermes bags or LV bags or Chanel bags, etc! :ROFLMAO:
Or buy Maserati (that always go into Garage for repairs)?
