Hi,

I tried to bridge my ST536v6 already, and after that I connect to the router and set to PPPoE. But I am still not able to surf. Are there any settings in the router interface that I also need to set?

Anyone faces the same problem? I managed to bridge it, and also got my router working after setting to PPPoE, but somehow the connection went off after around 15 mins, and I cannot get it connected again.

Could it be my router setting?

Successfully converted by ST536v6 to bridge mode using the residential CD and tested using the manual connection.

Need to clarify a few things,

1) I have not bought my wirless router yet, does that mean that I have to dial the manual connection to connect to the internet for the time being? Cos I even when the lights on my modem are lit, I can't connect to the internet unless I dial the manual connection.

2) I can't access the the Speetouch Lan homepage anymore a http://192.168.1.254/?

3) After I have bought my wirless router, will it be like before, when I can just access the net without dialing the manual connection?

Sorry cos I'm totally noob when it comes to such stuff. Thanks.

You don't need to bridge it when you dont have the router yet.

when did you get the modem?

I just got mine last week and it worked with my netgear DG834G without any problems.

Remember to disable DHCP on the router and let the modem do the IP addressing.

Bridged Mode

Still have problem getting the modem to bridge mode...

wizard does not restart when pc reboots...

WOULD buying a new 2-in-1 modem-cum-wireless router be the best way ?
(of course, it means spending money)

If so, which is a good (ie, reliable) wireless G modem-cum-wireless router you guys recommend?

THANK YOU.

You both need to read the thread leh.

The password is mentioned, besides, there are a few more methods available, some fast and simpler, the other more difficult.

Noted.

Thank you. Will try the CL method.

BTW, does getting a gateway (2-in-1) be a better solution?

Just got my ST536v6. It seems quite intelligent and friendly.
When connecting directly to a PC, it will ask for userid and password.
When I connect to my Dlink DGL4300, it connect seamlessly.
No need to make any settings change at all.

Finally retiring my venerable 8-yr-old Speed Touch Pro.

Anything I should be mindful?
