almost wanted to buy the r9 but it seems cannot use with tpg? in a dilemma now if i should change to sharp AND change my telco
Why not?
For TPG may need their app for LTE voice calls but data should work just fine.

Likely the same for R9Pro & R9
There is no culminative updates I believe.
I just received my R9, had to do 3 updates (something like May > July > Oct 2024)

Has Sharp Singapore address why there's no Leica branding on the Singapore variant?

Also does the R9 PRO have dual stereo front-firing speakers? On their ads it only shows 1 speaker so does it mean a mono speaker setup?

I've also seen some of their other phones being advertised as "Made In Japan", but there's no mention of this for the R9 PRO.

It's quite an odd advertising strategy as the info given is not consistent among their phones.
Leica branding globally in many market licensed to Xiaomi, previously Huawei.
Sharp only have Leica branding license in japan and taiwan.

End of day is just brand licensing.

But the sg set, come with Leica filters or participation of lens designs too?

I don't think Sharp got Lecia filter build in. The rest of the hardware is totally the same just that they cannot put leica on the phone it's still summicron lens don't worry

More sample shots. Those that want to try on thier phones I using the LMC 8.4 gcam mod. To me I think at least For R6, it's better than the original app

There is no Lecia lens filter that came with R9 pro. But if you need a lens filter, you can always buy the magnetic ring attachment and a SLR camera 62mm lens filter and attach it on the R9 pro.

Tried my spare TPG sim on the R9.
Data works, VoLTE works, SMSs works.
It is probably too new to be on TPG list of tested smartphones.

Anyone could advice if R8s pro is worth to get it today? Seeing the price drop is quite enticing to swap to it, but not sure the overall quality since there are mixed reviews that after 1 month of usage, some say screen showing color issues and others.

I do play some mobile games (MLBB and others) but not on the highest setting, so believe it should be fine but trying to find reviews on the phone is just hard to decide if its ok to get.

I think the IGZO screen on Sharp phones tend to have some greenish tint issues. It's very obvious on my Sense 8 in Dark mode, when i have my room lights off at night.

I don't seem to see the same issue on my R8s pro at nights. Might be because of the IGZO Pro screens . But color re-production just don't look as natural/accurate compared to some of my other phones. I'm not a photography guy, so it doesn't matter much to me.

If you're using for gaming, R8s pro runs my gacha games pretty well. As compared with my RedMagic8Pro, i find the R8s pro can get pretty hot, and the battery in turn drains faster. Additional benefit is of course the microsd slot since there is potential to store even more stuff into your phone.

IMO If you don't mind only 1 sensor / camera R8s pro has a superior processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 compared to R9 pro Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The 1 inch sensor is the same LTY-900. The decision for Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 still kinda puzzling but I suspect it might be something to do with thermals. Sharp hasn't been very good at it. I know my R6 runs on SD 888 but still it's runs hotter than other SD 888 devices back then. Now that I upgraded to the latest and last update, it's still pretty hot.

No built in duplicate apps features. It's quite barebone Android. You have to install additional app like Shelter, etc, if you want to have duplicate/multi apps.

If to compare with poco f6 pro, which would be more ideal to get?
Camera wise as mention about 1 sensor, is it good or bad thing as a whole?

Biggest mobile sensor as a whole. But nowadays smart phone photography depends on software optimisation too. Regarding the comparison it really depends on what you looking for. Also I R8s pro is on the older 1 inch sensor. IMX989, my bad but still 1inch.
