How do u download from Terafile? the site sucks :vijayadmin:

(Download the attachment from here: xda-developers - View Single Post - SUCCESS !!! Knox 0x0 with Mobile Odin Pro 3.85 !!!)

Here's the procedure for going from a fully rooted ML2 (or possibly MJ7 and before) to 4.4.2 KitKat:

1) Obtaining the firmware files.

Download the full official firmware from:
Firmwares | SamMobile

Search for "N9005" and download the Singapore (StarHub) 4.4.2 firmware.

2) Obtaining Odin 3.09 and the BL (bootloader) files.

Download the attachment below this post. It contains:
-Odin 3.09
-package.tar.md5 (which is the BL to be flashed).

3) Mobile Odin Pro 4

You'll need to download and install Mobile Odin Pro 4 for KitKat support and its ability to boot into Download mode (Odin mode) after flashing the main firmware (in order to flash the BL, as MOP doesn't support flashing of BL).

4) Flashing the main firmware

Extract the firmware file (N9005XXUENA6_N9005OLBENA2_N9005XXUENA2_HOME.tar.md5) into your phone memory.

Run Mobile Odin Pro 4 and click on Open file....

Choose the firmware file from your Internal SD-card.

Make sure that EverRoot, Inject SuperSU, and Inject Mobile ODIN are all checked.

Tick Wipe Dalvik cache.

Select After flash ... and choose Download mode

Flash!

5) Flashing the Bootloader

Your phone would automatically reboot a few times and finally end up in Download mode.

Extract the contents of the attachment somewhere.

From there, connect your phone to your PC and run Odin 3.09.

Click on BL and select package.tar.md5, and uncheck F. Reset Time and check Phone Bootloader Update.

(I didn't uncheck F. Reset Time and Phone Bootloader Update but it worked anyway).

Click on Start.

6) Success!

Your phone should be rooted, running KitKat 4.4.2, and with Knox Warranty 0x0!

Congratulations!

@Syraxius
hey pal, thanks again for sharing, flashed mine the other day and maintained root at knox 0 :)
From 4.3 XSP to 4.4 XSP via MOP & got the kb error too. I think reflashing csc should fix the kb error but didn't bother cos I use 3rd party kb. Anyway, soon after I soft brick my Note3 :( dun ask how, tried some funny stuff on it.

So end up had to flash full stock again using PC odin :( .. Knox still 0 but Unrooted.:frus::s27: damn I'm stuck!!! btw samsung keyboard working again.

No.

You will have to take other means to root your device and might end up tripping your Knox.

Are you still getting that problem? Did you use your own ISP's firmware? Most people fixed it by flashing their correct firmware again using MOP (you can try reflashing the same thing again if you're sure it's the right file, it usually solves it)

If you're using a Singapore phone (whether Singtel or StarHub), the bootloader is correct. Usually the "Samsung keyboard has stopped working" problem lies with the firmware being flashed.

My set is from singtel, as I can't find singtel firmware I did with XSP. XSP should be able to use right? Download from 2 different site and flash, same result. I have no doubt about your steps. Maybe I'll wait for singtel firmware and try again later. No big issue as I still can use other keyboard. Keep it up and thks.

What is the point of rooting on androids? Isn't it supposed to be very open and unlimiting by default? There is even an option to allow installation of files from unknown sources. You can change the ui without rooting. You can already share mp3s and mkvs thru wifi direct. Is the note 3 still underperforming?

As for the article linked above, i understand that any unauthorized modifications will render the warranty to void. Shouldn't it be correct? It's similar to those who modified their ps3 or xbox or any other electronics appliances right? So why does the poster feel it is unfair?

Anyone needs a direct-link mirror for the firmware let me know. I have it hosted on a fast server (~1-2MB/s for SG connections) but don't want to make it public or else my bandwidth gg.

I have successfully "upgraded" to kitkat while keeping Knox untriggered using the mobile odin + flash bootloader method similar to what Syraxius described.

However, due to a combination of FolderMount error, Ext SD Card write error, late-night tinkering and moment of stupidity, I attempted to reflash 4.3 and triggered Knox.

I noticed that the phone will have occassional but extremely annoying partial-freeze, as in the lower half of the touch screen (and hardware buttons -- i.e. home, back and menu) is totally unresponsive. It gets annoying especially since I can't even reboot the phone (because the 'OK' button in the reboot dialog box happens to be in the unresponsive lower half -- damned!).

Anyway, I get frustrated enough to flash X-Note last night (anyway, knox is already triggered. Now, I could care less about it, and would damn well play with all those wonderful custom ROMs -- so, may be its turns out to be a blessing to have triggered Knox -- it set myself an dmy note 3 free -- lol). The problem of the paralyzed lower half seems to go away. At least I have not seen it return the whole of this morning (before this, it will happen frequent enough for me to observe it at least once in 6 hours).

I am wondering if anyone else observe the same thing. I suspect it may an after effect of triggering knox, but I vaguely remember I experienced it after I "upgraded" to KitKat before Knox is triggered, but not sure. So this may or may not be a Knox issue.

Anyway, just to share my experience, and ironically I am now much happier with my phone ... as long as the half-paralyzed touch screen problem don't relapse (finger crossed).
