hi, is anyone running a miniPC 24/7 as a headless node / terminal ?

Initially was thinking of Pi4, but the OS pushes me off, so was thinking of going MiniPC + Win10 route

I am doing so. I put ESXi on my mini PCs and manage it through vCenter.

May be can chat up with the CS and see if they can provide that information. Last year I checked with them on the availability of Renoir based laptops, and the CS was able to give me an indicative month, although the actual product only arrived close to a month late.

I think the price looks very good. When I configure with the 4650GE with pretty much similar specs but shorter warranty at 4 years, its already coming up to 844 SGD with 10% discount.

I don't deny its last gen, but with no 5xxx series in sight, and with likely higher prices as reflected in the price bump from desktop 3xxx to 5xxx series, I feel it may still be worth it. The CPU is slower, but the GPU is pretty much the same if not slightly faster due to higher clock speed.

If remove the hdd and only opt for nvme drive.

I used this code, HZCNSALE. Do note the discount only applies to hardware, so warranty will not be eligible.

In my opinion, its best to stick to either the Ryzen 3 or 5 CPUs for this build. 2 reasons for my recommendation,
1. Cooling solution may not handle the 35W TDP - The cooler is just a basic aluminum heatsink with very little fins. In fact, I will go to say that the cooling solution seems more basic than the Maibenben Mini PC with the 15W Ryzen 5 2500U after checking both cooling solutions out. While all 3 APUs are supposed to run with a 35W TDP, the higher end you go, the more power it will consume, because its got more cores, CUs and higher clockspeed.

2. The 65W power brick may not allow the Ryzen 7 to reach its potential, which is likely hampered by the cooling solution in the first place.

The M75Q Gen 2 comes with 2x ram slots to run dual channel memory, 1x NVME SSD slot, and 1x SATA connection (SATA cable included for the set that I got for my dad). It will run hot, like what you would expect when a laptop is under load which is expected to hit the 80s to even 90 degs, but I don't expect it to be critical.

10% discount can be found online quite easily.

There are different discount for different category products.
eg The 20% for Legion Laptop given by Sales team had expired and couldn't used it on Legion but still able to used it on Tiny series.

I've also hoot a set but with a Ryzen 5 4600GE. I've sold off my main PC, and not expecting to buy a new desktop anytime soon. Prolly get a new desktop when the next gen GPU and CPU are out. Not so sure about the ETA for my unit though. Anyway, I've also hoot the below 135W power adapter to go along with it.

I believe the power usage is actually higher than 65W with the higher end CPUs. The review shows that at max load, the system with the Ryzen 5 is pulling in 68W, and that is assuming that you are not connecting additional components to the USB ports, other than mouse and keyboard. So a 90W power adapter is actually the best bet. But considering the 90W and the 135W is only 2 to 3 bucks difference, no reason to go with the 90W.

Anyway, I figured that my order did not go through for some strange reason. I saw the confirmation screen after completing the credit card OTP screen, but was thinking why I did not get an email to confirm the order. When I checked "my orders" in my account, I don't find that order. Strange...
