Well .. I corrected your misconception for your sake my dear. :) Talking about study methods, it is too subjective to a person`s intellectuals or habits blah. I suggest you check out those timetables before you type since it seems that there are many assumptions in what you wrote. Lab sessions are twice a month, on weekdays.

Anyway, i`m in yellow too, and yellow shirts are so difficult to find :( Btw, guys did your OGL say anything more about the camp, i.e the cost or updated packing list? My OGL only asked me for my shirt size.

agreed, so hard to find a yellow top :( and my ogl only started a chat recently and told us she would update the packing list soon! hopefully they'll do so asap ^^

Lastly i donno u n u dont hv to be that hostile to make urself look good like white knight. U r merely comparing class schedules but you forgot to comprehen the difficulty extend of completing engineering assignments.

I did both. For engine students, sleeping is a extreme luxury. I can slp in peace while being an arts student

Sigh, I must have hit you hard although I was being polite. Oh wells. As I said, different people have different stress levels and limits, so I`m sure you did see one of us was trying to state her opinion but was ****** :( and I wasn`t comparing if you read carefully but merely correcting some facts :) It should be a forum for open discussion with no ill feelings :)

As for being weak in other subjects, and if you still are, do find friends who are good in the area to seek help :) In my opinion, although you might not agree, we are in the age where a degree is definitely necessary. It is no longer about if you have the ability to handle it,but a must to complete it in order to survive in our society.

Hey! my ogl did tell us about the packing list, other than the ones listed on simconnect. He just told us that we will need

2 yellow teeshirts
1 extra teeshirt (yellow preferred but if not its fine)
insect repellent
torchlight
sleeping bag
1 pair of running shoes
1 pair of normal walking shoes (optional)
slippers

hmmm. thats about it. of course pack your own toiletries, sleepwear, personal items, etc. stuff enough to survive 2 days. :s13:
Maybe pack more undergarments:s13::s13::s13: just in case they play a lot of water games or sth. no idea what kind of crazy games they may play hahha. better to safe than sorry? HAHA.

and, report in yellow tee. $40 for the entire camp fee. :)
That should be all.

Super nervous too! and excited.

I wasnt comparing. Engineering always hv a higher stress level due to the amount of assignments to be handed in before the class starts. Stress also comes from limited labs that can be used within a given time frame.

One do not exactly fail a paper for weak english so long u get a proof reader. But one will surely find it stress for weak maths.

Thats where i was coming from.

Lab schedules aft classes is not what u think it is.
And minus away 15 hrs from lab contact classes, man~~ its really walk in the park.

If aperson can feel stress doing 6 classes full time, then she/he may hv to consider is they r even suitable for graduate studies. Cos in real life work life, its equally as bad when comes to stress lvl if not more

hmmm, so if stress is the topic here, whoever said stress was a bad thing? Stress is good especially in a competitive society like sg. Manageable stress levels helps build one's determination and perseverance. When our fellow ub schoolmate complains that it is 'stress' it only means he/she feels pressurized as it finally sinks in that a uni life is starting for him/her. Why is he/she being attacked for saying it is going to be 'stressful'?

Everyone has different sources of stress, so according to what you say, everyone who feels stressed should not pursue an education? OR. should not even work in society? That's total BS, stress is everywhere and on everyone. Don't assume 'engineering students' are the only that are super duper stressed. Engineering students may have their own work and problems to worry about but that doesn't mean art students or in fact any other students that are outside of NTU/NUS don't have their own problems and work to fret over.

Come on, arts subjects are not just about language where you can just get someone to 'proofread' our work and we will miraculously pass every module or lesson. Essays are not just about language. If you have ever been an art student, you would understand. So don't assume that you can 'slp in peace while being an arts student' when you aren't even an arts student yourself. Have you stayed up into the wee hours to complete an essay or rather just to come out with something to write, and then edit, and just to realise there is much more to go? The ordeal is there man, it is not easy.

But then again, nothing is easy in life, whether you are a business student, engineering student, science or art student, it is not easy at all. seriously, stop making it sound like arts is the easiest area to study. Cause it is not. Just like every other field of study.

Let me quote sth u said ' But one will surely find it stress for weak maths.' first of all, is someone is weak in maths why would they major in engineering. LOL. similarly, if someone is weak in language why would they major in arts? your point is invalid my dear. And plus, even if an engineer student was bad at maths, lets just get someone to 'proof-check' their maths, just like how you mentioned 'one can get a proof reader' for english. LOL

don't compare things when they don't even have anything to compare. and one more thing, just in case you mention it later on, I am NOT comparing here. I am merely correctly your ridiculous comparisons.

To everyone, please don't come in this thread if all you want is to attack on our fellow ub schoolmates. This thread is for ub current/future/potential students to discuss relevant material. Thank You. :)

Yeah, I guess so since I won't be able to find so many yellow tees for sure. Hmm and 2 photocopies of your O/A and passport photos right?

Hi guys would really appreciate it if you guys could help me out here.
I'm currently in the army due to ORD in 2015 and plan to enrol in UB Psychology in 2016. I hold a poly dip in an unrelated field with a GPA of 2.5. My decision hinges largely on financial repercussions and 66k is no small sum tbh. However, I am well aware that poly grads are entitled to credit exemptions and would like to know:
1) what is the min credit exemption i can expect to receive?
2) are students expected to pay the full 66k upon enrolment or is it divided over each semester?
3) what are the costs of misc items such as books/exams/printed material?

1) Since Im not a psy major so I can't say. But most likely you should be able to exmpted from all General eduaction and free electives.

2) Paid by each semester. Depening on how many credit you take a semester. If you only take 3 credits, you only pay for 3 credits.

3)depends on the books. Psy books are effing expensive. & just recently the textbooks prices went up due to some idiots. You can always buy second hand books from seniors, we have a facebook page for that. Some mods doesn't even req text book. You don't have to pay extra for exams. Some lecturer print out their notes for free, some expect you to print it yourself. But most of us just bring our laptop to take down notes.
