If they do not have IPv6, then why they wrote this article ?

I do have IPv6 working for quite some time, until suddenly, it stop working totally. Called up support, and the agent mentioned they can't configure IPv6 on the ONT.

If you are on ONT, you may try to do a direct connection to your PC/Mac.
I see. So I am not the only one having the problem. I guess someone at Simba screwed up with the IPv6 configuration. :(

i also can't get it working with Simba sim. I think there is no such option in the SiM setting. while changing to other Sim ST the vowifi option appears.
My VoWifi with Simba SIM is working fine. I can see the option and tested working.
Fyi, I am using Samsung S23.

For the SIMBA Fibre Broadband users here, what do the terms and conditions say about the out-of-contract pricing? Thanks.

1. Unfortunately that is usually the case for both Singtel and M1.

Basically they expet you to recontract with them (or just move out if you are not happy with the recontract offer).

M1 is probably okay as they may well give you decent recontract offer, at least same as new users.

Singtel used to be okay as per my past experiences. But then my recent experience is not good. They just refused to give you a decent recontract offer (my expectation is not high: just need to be similar to new sign-up, and I was even willing to a pay a bit more). So I moved out to M1.

Legacy plans were better -- Singtel 500Mbps, M1 500Mbps and Starhub 500 Mbps would usually keep the same pricing even out-of-contract. I was out of contract for Singtel 500Mbps and Starhub 500Mbps for quite some years last time.

2. Starhub may be a bit better. It is said the out-of-contract pricing will be the same for the S$30-ish 5Gbps offer back in late 2024 and early 2025. Need to check recent promotions.

3. eight home internet is good -- out-of-contract pricing remains the same.

4. Need to check MR/VQ/WC/SIMBA/GOMO for out-of-contract pricing.

WhizComms publishes their out-of-contract pricing in Clause 1.8 of their contract. Their highest out-of-contract price is currently S$35 per month.

Hi if I sign up for M1 broadband from simba, do I need to manually call simba to cancel contract or it will auto terminate?

Hi, any idea if out of contract existing SIMBA broadband customers can get the launch promo 29.99/m with FREE WiFi 7 (10G) ONR (worth $699) and FREE 2 X Huawei OptiXstar WiFi 7 (2.5Gb router (worth $598)? Do I just sign up online as per usual or have to go to shop to sign contract? Thank you

If I'm not wrong, you need to call or email Simba Customer Service at least 35 days before your contract ends to terminate it.

Just want to check the Huawei 10G and 2.5G WiFi 7 router model number.

10G model: HX8145B7s-6X?
2.5G model: K572 or FG736?

SIMBA now uses mainly Huawei gears (ONR, WiFI 7 routers) even though they still provide Amazon eero Pro 7 10G router option.

SIMBA is the first in Singapore to launch Huawei's latest all-in-one Mesh System, combining a 10G optical network and WiFi connectivity in a single device. Paired with Huawei Mesh routers, it delivers seamless WiFi 7 coverage, ultra-fast performance and reliable whole-home connectivity.

For SIMBA, the 10G WiFi 7 Huawei router is probably this one. Need to confirm with SIMBA users.

Model No.: HX8145B7s-6X
CLS Level: Level 2
Registration ID: CSA/IOTZ0029
Date of Issuance: 27 August 2026
Date of Expiration: 26 August 2029
Issued via Mutual Recognition: -
Assessed By: SGS Brightsight

The 2.5G WiFi 7 Huawei router is probably the following. Need to confirm with SIMBA users.

Model No.: K572

Actually I'm still thinking of getting Simba. M1 contract ended, but don't want to jump into another contract without checking if it's at least on par with M1.

SIMBA is making Huawei central to its latest 10Gbps broadband offer, with Wi-Fi 7 built into the ONR (optical network router - which combines the function of a terminal and router) and two OptiXstar mesh nodes extending coverage around the home. https://bit.ly/4xvDodk

Comments about Huawei versus eero for reference only.

Carousell now has quite some Huawei eKitOptix FG736 (BE3600, dual 2.5Gbe ports and dual gigabit ports) for sell at S$50 to S$60 listed, sold by VQ users. The final price may we'll be below S$50.

SIMBA is providing 10G Wi-Fi 7 ONR plus two 2.5Gbe mesh nodes fir the 10Gbps plan at S$29.99 per 30 days.

https://simba.sg/broadband

This can be a cost effective solution compared to the other SIMBA 10Gbps option at the same price but with eero Pro 7 10Gbps router.

Huawei will be the sole source of any/all firmware updates for these products. Huawei has locked out community firmware projects such as OpenWrt. Among other problems, their boot loaders don’t allow any other firmware. (Some vendors, such as MikroTik, explicitly cater to independent firmware projects in their boot loaders.) In short, you’ve got to trust Huawei to supply timely firmware updates to keep your network gear secure, and for at least the span of time you want to run these devices.

Per the CLS, Huawei is promising updates for the FG736 only through September 17, 2028. The SIMBA-supplied Huawei equipment is through August 26, 2029.

If you’re considering network devices that don’t have independent community firmware options, Amazon is currently promising security updates for all eero 6 and 7 series products (except the eero Pro 6) through at least September 30, 2031. (The eero Pro 6 ends on July 13, 2030.) But that date will surely shift out since the actual promise is for at least 5 years from last new retail sale from Amazon. The TP-Link Archer BE450 is among the many OpenWrt compatible wireless routers if you want something with an independent firmware option β€” and OpenWrt updates probably for a decade or more to come.

Good point about Huawei wireless routers.

It probably depends on whether Huawei can keep the relationship with VQ and SIMBA. If yes they may we'll extend the security updates.

CLS date is often not the real date the vendor will stop the security updates, as seen from TP-Link and Asus which often extend the dates.

No track record for Huawei Global version wireless routers sold in Singapore though. So indeed it is better to avoid Huawei if you want to have long term security updates.

Anyone else getting wrongly geolocated as Brazil or see "Dubbed in Portuguese" recommended in Netflix?
It is due to a recent transfer of IP address block from Brazil to Simba.
https://ipv4xi.com/ipv4-transfers/org/simba-telecom-pte-ltd/

Check on fast.com (netflix).
I don't know if it will help to request SIMBA to submit updates to Netflix and other GeoIP database providers.
