from Simba's investor briefing this morning.

In text:
• Low CAPEX model leveraging Singapore’s NBN and existing SIMBA service infrastructure.
• >95% residential penetration. Targeting ~1.5M homes.
• Target availability end FY23

That's all the information for now. Target end FY23. Their FY is from 1 Aug to 31 July. So we're looking at a mid-year launch hopefully.

Hopefully by June!

This is my main concern to jump from 500orange to this.

Legit question, why do you use home line? A lot of phone plans now come with unlimited minutes, and even if not, 300-1000mins is enough for almost everyone.

I use my home line to call up hotlines etc. either for long calls or when I don’t want the other party to have my personal mobile number

I keep my home line for legacy reasons too.

Over the past few years, my elderly parents have had random "cold calls" from old friends they had lost contact with, some as far back as 40 years, who "happened to be clearing up and found an old phonebook and decided to try to connect with old friends". Two or three had migrated, so the value of reconnecting was greater. This especially because my parents don't believe in Facebook or social media.

There is value in keeping old numbers rather than changing it at every opportunity. But this kind of thing requires a few variables to align: i) people who communicated primarily via telephone calls and through writing letters, ii) people who kept phonebooks/address books.

Make one wonder what would happen with our current generation, although the means of connecting were via social media and texting. But many people change their numbers often too, so there's no guarantee that people can reconnect after a fairly reasonable time window has lapsed.

need to ask them to be careful also, there are cases of scammers pretending to be elderlies long lost friends to "borrow" money from them.

anyone got any responded from SIMBA so far regarding this broadband registration ?

My Starhub broadband contract ending this month and thinking if i should continue starhub broadband as non contract plan package or switch to data mobile for internet for this next 2-3 mths. My concern is that SIMBA delay their roll out plan.

just an email acknowledgement. no further updates yet.

non-contract package means can give notice anytime and cut without penalty? if so, that seems the best option
