Do you know there are protections for men and children in the WC? It's just unfortunately named.

tbh, I really didn't read. but from what I saw on the news (iirc), everytime WC is used against guys. if I got time, will read on it. thanks for the share.

Still doesn’t mean the judgement is not in favor of women. Law is not blind and equal to everyone.

It doesn't work that way. Netlink charges your ISP $16 per month for each fibre connection, so if Simba sells their internet for any less than that they're gonna make a loss.

Just access, speed doesn't matter. That's why Simba can advertise 2.5Gbps, it technically doesn't cost more than 1Gbps or 500Mbps or 100Mbps to them

Good to know, however it’s disturbing to find out about the monopoly of netlink. What if they decide to hike up the price.

Most Telco (m1 , starhub , singtel ) can easily upgrade their 1gbps plan user to 2.5gbps plan but the question will be if the user have any equipment that are 2.5gbps ready .

When Simba launch their 2.5gbps broadband , they are likely to be in their 2nd trial phase for the next 12 months. This probably also highly explained why the contract is 12 mth . At long they use the netlink infrastructure, this $20 broadband model won't be sustainable

I think it's sustainable. Simba gets to keep ~$4 per month per user. Last mile is already covered by Netlink, all they need is to provide the interconnection infra (which they can just share with mobile). Then charge for the ONT and router separately, and let the user keep it.

They still need to invest upfront on the backend infrastructure (OLT, and peering agreement with other tier 1 ISPs, etc), hard to say that $4 per user is enough.

They could cut the $20 plan to 500Mbps and raise the price of 2.5Gbps to $25 and it will still be really popular. Doubles their margin on the 2.5Gbps plan too, and they can still say they have the cheapest plan (other ISPs minimum $30 for 500Mbps)

The big 3 telco then *in directly* created many mobile virtual Network Operators and virtually kill off TPG.

I have checked online that now there are some high-end routers that has 2.5gbps Wan port and 1 or 2 x 2.5 gbps Lan port(s). I foreseek that most telco will offer 2.5gbps plan after Simba roll out their 2.5gbps plan.

upcoming WiFi 7 routers (at least from tp-link) will have multiple 2.5GbE ports.

for wired router,can consider QNAP Qhora 321 which has 6x 2.5GBE ports or Nanopi R6S coupled with external AP combo.

Registered interest already, My whizcomms sexpire in Aug. Wely tulan all of them increase price.

I only need no frills internet, my home happiness equilibrim is youtube can watch, mewatch can watch (for parents) and whatsapp can call thats it. Basically anything more than 10mbps I don't need one.
