For NLT appointment for SIMBA. 2.5G

Do we need to be present at home for the appointment? Or they can check from outside ?

based on my experience, i was required to be present at home.

but based on what people shared over here, they can do it outside...
Ok just to update.. for my case the NLT worker called me. As they need to spice the connection for my 2nd port as mine first port now using SH. And after they done the spicing they came in to check the fibre port signal strength.

You can choose to go with ONT for Starhub 5Gbps and Starhub is using dynamic public IPv4 address and /64 IPv6, just like M1.

By default, Starhub 5Gbps comes with all-in-one XGS-PON ONR (10G capable, with wireless AX6000). But you can request to change to XGS-PON ONT (then you need to get your own router) at the physical shop.

If you do not have 10Gbps capable router, you can actually use Starhub 5Gbps plan as a true 2.5Gbps plan.
Hi xiaofan. Starhub comes with dynamic public ip? I was messenging them via fb today and they reply me only business plan comes with public ip.

Dynamic public IPv4 for Starhub, M1, SingTel and WC Fibre Internet plans..

Their reply is wrong. The one who answered your question may confuse dynamic public IPv4 address with static public IPv4 address.

Thanks! Good then the choice is clearer for me now. Cheapest plan with public ip > 1gb speed seems to be SH for now on their $45 5gb plan.

Good day to all experts. Interested to sign up for this and have confirmed that the service available to my area.

Noob question for a very tech un-savvy uncle.

I'm looking to purchase a pair for Asus ROG Rapture GT6 and use that as mesh in my house. Chose this over the XT8 for aesthetic reason and it has a 2.5gbps port. I don't have any smart devices at home so will this plan be suitable? I'm not choosing the 1+1 plans as my setup is set in stone with only 1 cable laid from where the termination point is.

Comments please. Thank you.

You can read the comparison of WC 2.5Gbps vs SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan here.

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...nd-whizcomm-boradband.6984714/#post-150697339

Personal Recommendations: just my personal opinion
Avoid SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan in general unless you use it as a backup ISP.
Avoid WC 2.5Gbps plan unless you really understand the weak points (eg: using ONR).

For an average user who want to have a low cost Fibre internet plan and do not mind the limitations of WC (including ONR), WC 2.5Gbps may be the way to go.
Stability is the most important factor for average users.

For power users who want to take a bit of risk and bridge the WC ONR, it is an okay option (but please take note of the other weak points like bad international routing to some locations).

I have been on SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband sincw 29th april this year and paid for 6 months. No problem so far. How do I check about the broadband contract and to pay for subsequent months? Go into my account and can only see mobile details.

How did you get the 10Gbps fibre?

What ONT did they provide?
