same here...but no public ipv4....gonna be a problem to access my home cameras and NAS when outside...Hmmmm

Your home camera may not need either a public IPv4 or Port forwarding to work. Newer system should work with CGNAT.

As for the NAS, you may try things like Tailscale or ZeroTier.

But I agree that SIMBA should really provide static IPv4 add-on for users who need it, just like MR/VQ.

its very old home camera which I access using DDNS and port forwarding on my router. Currently on Singtel with super old ONT.

I see. Then that is a issue.

You may still get it working through Tailscale/ZeroTier on the NAS (as an exit node).

But probably not worth the trouble in this case, just ignore SIMBA for now.

I recd email from simba to join the 10gbps plan. Wonder I should do it bo.

Life is v short. Ai song song kao tuas & Changi.
i also receive invite e-mail. we are both on m1 500 which is super super reliable and cheap. tpg broadband 2.5 always says i'm not in the right location to sign on! i just want cheap. some more wi-fi 7 routers so expensive and big. those china wi-fi 7 routers no 6GHz band as they use it for their 5G cellular

yeah
I'm trying to figure out how to get Tailscale working with my ip cameras from my NAS (which I have already installed Tailscale).

I'm not sure if I should enable subnet route on the NAS Tailscale to include my home subnet address.

Wanted to use the NDP $20 voucher, went to Simba service centre at PLQ Mall.

Told me to do it online, they no internet service.

Online not possible to use NDP voucher leh. Has anyone used the voucher successfully in the physical shops yet
You will need to go to their main outlets (eg Orchard Central). You will need to sign up on the spot with your mobile phone/tablet. The staff will then give you a promo code to enter as part of the sign up process (The promo code field is in one of the pages before the confirmation and payment page).

You will need to show them the final confirmation screen after payment. They will need to note down your order number (or something on that screen).

Also received invitation email for 10Gbps, but then my MR contract still has 5 months to go, and i also have a VPN server setup too.

I don't mind using it as a 2.5Gbps broadband, it's cheaper than what i am paying for MR 1Gbps anyway.

SIMBA updated the FAQ:

https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/articles/26549153153049-How-to-sign-up-to-SIMBA-Broadband

SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband is available to selected residential addresses in:

East: Bedok, Eastwood, Eunos, Geylang, Macpherson, Joo Chiat, Katong, Kew Drive, and Upper East Coast

SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband is billed 90 days or 360 days in advance.

Upon registration, the payment is as follows:
One-time $138.00 for NLT Service Activation Charge and ONT with onsite installation cost by SIMBA.

In addition,
For 90-Day Payment Plan:
$119.94 for two (2) 90-Day’s subscription fee in advance as the first billing cycle;
$89.97 for every subsequent one (1) 90-Day’s subscription fee.

For 360-Day Payment Plan:
$299.88 for one (1) 360 Day’s subscription fee in advance as the first billing cycle.

Customers who are FIN number holders at the time of registration shall only be billed on a 360-Day basis in advance.

I saw this email in my outlook inbox, invitation for the trial.
Heard many negative review on its 2.5G variant, using CGNAT.
Means I will no longer to able to run Jellyfin or Synology Photo server.
(There was workaround, but it involved wireguard or vpn)

What about this XGS-PON 10Gbps?
Does it provide dynamic IPv4 public IP?

Need to wait for more information.

But most likely still use CGNAT as SIMBA may not have enough IPv4 addresses to offer cost effective static IPv4 add-on. If that is the case, I think SIMBA should enable IPv6 as a potential workaround.

I think one glimpse of hope is that Simba Mobile has implemented IPv6

Yes, apply online at their shop and they will give you the promo code for $20 discount before you move to next step and pay online.

Take note TP-Link EB810v is locked to Starhub for firmware updates. HB810 is locked to Singtel network for firmware updates.

TP-Link Archer BE805 is not locked to MR so it may be a better choice (dual 10G ports, but lack 2.5G ports compared to EB810v and HB810). It is probably one of the cheapest true WiFi 7 options (with 6GHz band).

Other choices -- more expensive than Archer BE805, except Xiaomi BE10000
1) Asus ROG GT-BE98 and ZenWiFi BQ16 WiFi 7 flagship, very expensive
2) Asus RT-AX89X WiFi 6 flagship
3) Asus RT-BE88U (China WiFi 7, dual band BE7200, no 6GHz band), many ports
4) Xiaomi BE10000 (China WiFi 7, triband BE10000, no 6GHz band), probably one of the cheapest option if you do not mind no local warranty and no 6GHz support.
5) TP-Link Archer BE800 and GE900, pretty expensive
6) TP-Link Deco BE85, pretty expensive
7) Ubiquiti Unifi UDM SE and UDM Pro, wired router, no wireless function
8) Netgear Orbi 970, super expensive
9) Mini PC based solution, wired router, no wireless function

ah, so when you say locked...does it mean we cannot get firmware update if purchase it for other ISPs?

cos i remember getting AX72 from Carousell and it was from someone who got it through M1. I can get new fw for those normally though.

What happen if I am invited for the 10Gbps pilot trial but I still use back the 1Gbps router? Will Simba scold me that I cant do testing for them cos I not using 10Gbps router?

Anyway, $300 for 360 days = $25 for 12 mths, much cheaper than m1 cheapest plan of 500mbps
