There are also other variables. Grab membership tier also affects prioritisation levels, and past history as well. Hard to pin it all on coverage.

My mom is currently in Melaka with her friends, and she is a low priority Grab user. But using SIMBA, she still books fine.
Yes I do believe there maybe some other factors affecting his Grab access.
Today my friend tried again but was unsuccessful again.
But my friend frequently went to KL, he said no issues with Grab.

You got your Giga roaming to work in Penang?
Yes, the map allows him to select pickup point and also destination.
But after clicking to search for available drivers, no response.
However when I use my giga line, immediate response by driver.

Did your friend try ordering using another network, like if connect to Celcom, try DiGi instead?

Or maybe use VPN to order?

I think there's some configuration that blocked the ordering, but I can't guarantee cos I don't have have physical device to test.

I think he did not manually select to change network.
Maybe will let him know about the selection of network.
VPN probably not for him at his age.

Think you misunderstood mine question, was asking about your Giga roaming.
It works in Malaysia? Mine didn't work when i was there.

I know this is Simba thread, but just to answer your doubts...
No problem for me using Giga roaming in JB, KL and now in Penang.
In fact after this trip I probably would like to port over to Simba's MY130 whereby with 10GB roaming in Malaysia unfortunately no Indonesia unless I go for GB 130 which is higher in price.
Sounds like either the Grab app or your friend’s phone problem if everything else works fine.

I have the same thinking.
He has re-installed Grab app but still unsuccessful.
His phone is Xiaomi 11T Pro, not sure any additional settings to look for.

My friend using Simba has no problem to book Grab using the hotel lobby wifi just a while ago.
Hence I should deemed that his phone is not an issue.

That could be the problem right there. Simba & Xiaomi somehow just dislike each other. If you have a Xiaomi phone, don't ever get a Simba line.

I think half the issues in this thread are because of Xiaomi phone... :ROFLMAO: (& in case you are wondering, the other half, is generally user problem lol)

FWIW, I have used Simba roaming (in a Samsung phone) in a few parts of Malaysia (Penang, KL, Malacca & Batu Pahat). No issue, including getting with Grab app.

Thanks for your input and highlights.
Maybe I should inform my friend on his Xiaomi brand phone which cannot be partnered with Simba.

Xiaomi has so many phones. What is his model?

In fact, only those who has problem will complain, and is only a handful here. Many more are using happily ever after.

Absolute rubbish. Been using Simba for years with different Xiaomi phones and been regularly roaming to Malaysia without any issues lol

Roaming with SIMBA with Xiaomi too and works fine, pop and go.
Faced problems with Giga, Circles Life but not for GOMO, Singtel, Starhub, ChangiGo.
