No idea.
However it is not my phone and he do not want me to meddle with his phone.
Anyway today we are heading to Ipoh, hope things go fine with his Xiaomi.

I know this is Simba thread, but just to answer your doubts...
No problem for me using Giga roaming in JB, KL and now in Penang.
In fact after this trip I probably would like to port over to Simba's MY130 whereby with 10GB roaming in Malaysia unfortunately no Indonesia unless I go for GB 130 which is higher in price.

There's a new plan called SuperRoam 50gb @ $20/30days. More worth.

I tend to travel more in Malaysia especially in JB, so I thought MY130 may suits me well.
Furthermore price is affordable for me.

I have already passed to him advices which I got it from someone through this thread.
However it's up to him whether he wants to obliged or not.
Well if he cannot reach Grab with his phone then I can always use mine to support.

That could be the problem right there. Simba & Xiaomi somehow just dislike each other. If you have a Xiaomi phone, don't ever get a Simba line.

I think half the issues in this thread are because of Xiaomi phone... (& in case you are wondering, the other half, is generally user problem lol)

FWIW, I have used Simba roaming (in a Samsung phone) in a few parts of Malaysia (Penang, KL, Malacca & Batu Pahat). No issue, including getting with Grab app.

So it's 50GB MY

This SR 50GB is considered overkill for my usage.
Furthermore monthly subscription is much higher than MY130.
Hence will stick to MY130 for my port over probably mid next month.

By the way, my friend managed to use Grab services when in Ipoh.
Not sure whether he took the shared advice, I didn't ask him.
Anyway it's good that no issues whatever occured in Ipoh for him.
