been trying to get my personal hotspot up and running and set the APN for personal hotspot.

my ipad can connect to the hotspot, but there is no internet connectivity.

anyone else with the same issue?

starhub only charges me $30 for 1G plan, no contract.

but samba will become cheapest later.

Why so good? I pay the same for SH but half the speed

You talk as an insider. I talk as an end user perspective. There is nothing fair or not fair. I’m Sure their business mgrs will have considered all parameters to launch at this price. And $15 for others does not mean Simba cannot get a preferential rates but with certain t&c. In the world of business, there is nothing in absolute. People looks down on TPG but they managed to survive.
You can share ur view but others should be able to share theirs too.

I'm open to sharing views, but they must consider the practical operational realities of businesses. Who doesn't want free internet?

To give some basis of comparison, let's look at IMDA's DigitalAccess@Home scheme for those receiving government assistance living among us. Even those of the lowest income bracket under IMDA's subsidy scheme will have to co-pay $5-15 for 500Mbps services.

Sharing hotspot from my iPhone. iPad has no problem using the internet. Replying this from iPad via iphone hotspot.

Check with u guys on billing.
Right now I pay with the CC that I set up at the simba portal.

If lets say I top with my account (eg thru shopee), the deduction will be thru my top up balance first right?
If balance got $5, it will deduct 5 from the balance, and the rest from CC?

No. It's either all or none. If urs is $10 plan, acct must have at least $10, else. Will deduct all from cc.

Check ur phone setting like APN and data roaming is turn on?
Otherwise place your sim card on another phone, see if its works?

Thanks. I reset my Wi-Fi and Internet, then switch on the roaming. Hope it works in my next trip.

Maybe a recent ROM Ota resets some of the preset info?

Or check if u enabled data roaming?

Or manually set the Telco on your phone network?

You might be right. I remember I updated my MIUI last week.

My next trip to Johor should be in July.

It is not critical as I can still find free Wi-Fi at the Aeon mall cafes if it doesn't work.

I hope to keep this phone for another 2 years.

becareful when using free wifi. i believe the data are not encrypted so dun use it to key in password.
