correct, no signal. Manual select dun even have smartfren in the list. Only at ferry terminal and some city area have
I am not surprised that Smartfren signal is pretty bad.
Just a data point that I went to Jakarta couple of weeks ago. At the airport terminal 2, then Pluit, Ancol and PIK area, coverage was ok.

SIMBA is using their own network, not using/tagging on M1, Starhub or Singtel network. The number of base stations are definitely fewer than the usual 3.

The signal strength do vary from 1-4 (out of 4) bars depending on location and thus the slowing of data speed, unlike the usual 3, where their signal are usually full bars most of the time.

I guess my work and home locations are not near any of the SIMBA base stations, thats why usually 2-3 bars only.

Simba is a Telco itself and new unlike the other big 3 .. they are trying to build more better infra and getting weaker signal strength is not unusual since they start selling $10 plans which is the cheapest compared to ther other big 3...

Dont expect fast speed on Simba it is usuable for daily average use ..

3 bars or 5 bars I don't care so long as I can surf uninterrupted. Turning off Wifi helps if you've been using Wireless@SG previously. I'd just remove it completely.

Experiences varies from individual’s locations and usage.

For me, SIMBA is generally usable. My locations are in Bedok at home and city at work.

My issue with SIMBA is the very slow upload speed, so for those need to upload the occasional file for work. Then it’s not suitable.

Reception in my room is also not great. I usually use 4g instead of the weak wifi signal at home in my room. Streaming is possible, but drops to 480p sometimes due to weak signal.

Because of these, I’m porting back to Changi Mobile, which I had better experience with for last 6 months (never experienced the common “airplane mode” problem many talked about).

Folks,

A port-in failure question due to mismatched ID.

So, after corrected the mismatched ID with the port-out telco.

Do I have to inform SIMBA or SIMBA system will keep trying automatically the next business day/night?
