Hi All,

Would like to ask if there is a way to reload a certain amount instead of the preset value of $5/10/20?

I got charged for using up my roaming quota for $0.16. I top up $10 as the renewal is coming, but $0.16 was deducted before the renewal. So my account is left with $9.84 and unable to renew for next cycle.

Is there a way to top up like $5.16 into my account?

Crap..

I found this on their website:

"Plan renewal is only valid when you have minimum $10 and above in your Account Balance. If your Account Balance is below $10, $8 will be charged to your registered payment method (e.g. VISA, Mastercard or AMEX) for plan renewal. Do note that credits in Account Balance are not refundable or exchangeable for cash."

Anyone tried to recharge their plan with account balance less than $10? Do they charge $8 to payment card and deduct remaining $2 from account balance?

Having issues one week after using SIMBA roaming. Was okay but suddenly cannot use while in the same country (Greece ). Instead of 4G it shows E (for EDGE?). occasionally it shows up as 2G. But data is not able to be used regardless.

I checked APN and there were two for Orange and one for TPG, it was on Orange. not able to change to any other carrier except the problematic one (Cosmote). My friend with me on SIMBA also facing same issue on the same day.

Did all the basic troubleshooting including APN but it's been more than 24 hours still same issue.

Anyone experienced similar and managed to fix? SIMBA cust svc not very helpful so far.
I think you were on a wrong carrier, had you been using this carrier (COSMOTE) for the previous days? Cuz I read from SIMBA, correct carrier should be wind or Vodafone

Nobody will admit it’s their fault. But sometime really is a phone setting issue. Like Becos you turn on hotspot, the telco block, or turn on 5G, telco block. Have to tried and error.

Agree that alot of times is user problem but in this case I have done every single troubleshoot in all possible permutations, multiple times on multiple devices and on multiple SIMBA accounts, also checked with the support staff over 3 days and used all the solutions they've given and they have no answer.

Have you used up your 1GB allocation? Did you top up your SIMBA balance? You have to manually add money since it will not auto deduct even if you have credit card on file for the monthly subscription.

Nope still have 0.90 out of 1GB, and I have $1+ in my balance as well if needed (extra balance from last trip to Australia, leftover from my top up because I needed extra data during that trip).

I think you were on a wrong carrier, had you been using this carrier (COSMOTE) for the previous days? Cuz I read from SIMBA, correct carrier should be wind or Vodafone

Yes I am on COSMOTE and SIMBA also tell me to try changing to Wind or Vodafone but I'm not able to manually change it on my android device or my friend's iPhone (iPhone can change but doesn't connect to the Telco) regardless of what shenanigans I try on both devices, and regardless of the cities we're in (third Greece city right now that did not worked, although it worked on the first day for the both of us).

From the way I see it there is something in that SIMBA <-Orange-> Roaming Network link that is giving problems and to me it sometimes looks like the issue is packet delays that are giving weird results on the mobile phone...

For me in Germany Roaming normally works but then suddenly the roaming network is gone and the mobile (and not only my one) is unable to connect again to the roaming network. It will not automatically reconnect. I normally have to push it, by changing the "Network select" to manual and select one of the allowed roaming networks and this will fail, then I try another one, that fails, then I give it a minute or so, change back to automatically select the network and it will eventually be connected again... This most of the time happens when I am moving around, so I presume it happens at the handshake to another base station. This is where my theory of packet delays come in... And yes, I had the phenomena that you had about being "downgraded" to EDGE. It is either Offline or EDGE... I reported this a few months back to SIMBA but honestly getting this issue to the right person within SIMBA is where the complication is. You need a collaboration of SIMBA, their "Roaming Proxy Partner" Orange and the actual used roaming network to pinpoint the issue down. Funny enough, I never had these problems in "Orange" home turf France... It works a treat there, never had any issues in France... Another hint for a packet runtime or delay issue, because in France the relationship is like a direct roaming agreement between Simba and Orange.

I hope somebody from SIMBA is reading here that knows how to tackle that issue and can have a look into it. The issue is not consistent and there are good weeks and bad ones, once again coming back to my theory of handshake delays between all the partner networks involved. I never seen this happening on a straight SIMBA roaming network, only happens on "Orange brokered Roaming agreements". So... it must be the middle man who is the problem ;-) ...

You can try to manually select a non authorised network, let your mobile try until it says Not able to connect or whatever and then change it back to automatically, it may work... But maybe Greece is different, never roamed there with Simba.

Good luck, hope it will work out!

Thanks, I've actually tried the solution you mentioned across multiple days but it does not work for me nor my friend. It's extremely frustrating not having the data access I paid for in the plan, and for a week too (thought it would resolve after a couple of days, or when I switched cities within Greece, but it didn't).

Moving onto another EU country soon, I hope it works because I have another two weeks to go and SIMBA cust support says they don't do compensation even though they have evidence it's not working.

like I always said, the test of how good a telco is, is not how it's serving the 99% of the norm...but how they manage the 1% of the potential issue that a user will face..

I had this issue during my aust trip, whole trip no connection...they blame it that I didnt turn on the TPG line 48hrs before i left...but...so what? is there nothing they can do ?

for your case, not sure why cos you were able to connect in other city...and really pray that you can camp to another network in another city..

I was able to connect to 3 cities over about a week actually, that's why I was surprised when it suddenly stopped working for both me and my friend.

But anyway thanks everyone for chipping in, I feel more supported by this community than SIMBA customer support.
