Anyone not able to access “my account” too?
trying to login to top up but unable to login, error prompted loop error…
For me, if I encountered problem accessing their app, then I will try to login at their website.
If both failed, then no choice just give up and try again later. :giggle:

Weird, SIMBA replied no issues with site but still can’t seem to work for me.
Totally forgot about the app but yes, app works and manage to top up.
Thanks!

what im scared of is the 2.5Gbps fibre in real world is 2.5mbps Then contract 2 years 😱
The negativity about this Simba is they like to over promised things...e.g their 5G and home fiber plan. Made themselves look damn stupid..

Nothing is happening... Rather they just shut up and give others a surprise than shock!

It was mentioned that the full launch will only be by the end of 1H 2024 which means it can be as late as June next year. Their soft launch only targets those staying in the Northeast area, supposed to be in Oct this year. There is a commercial reason as to why the launch can only take place by 1H 2024.

IMDA is supposed to complete the review of Netlink pricing by Q2 next year which is conducted once every 5 years. Netlink owns the only optic fibre network in SG, and all ISPs pay 14 dollars per month for each connection. Netlink does not have any tiered pricing on whether are you given a 1Gbps or 10Gbps connection, the ISPs are the ones determining the speed. Even if Simba want to charge 20 dollars, that will depend on how much the hike is, if it is by 50 cents, then they probably can swallow it at 20 dollars. But if the hike is 2, 3 or 4 dollars, it will not be possible to offer the service at 20 dollars or perhaps the 20 dollars is only for the limited pioneer batch. Therefore, until the new pricing structure on the Netlink connection is approved by IMDA, I don't think a full launch is possible. Analysts' report on Netlink Trust back in May this year already wrote that the review results can be out anytime soon, but up till now, still no news yet, so it could well be anytime until Q2 next year.

IMHO.
What was the commercial reason which was unknown that Simba cannot launch by September 2023 like it was reported ?

Their cost depends on Netlink Trust pricing review to be approved by IMDA and that will happen anytime or latest by 1H 2024 which will have an impact on their profitability and whether can they continue to offer at 20. IMDA till now haven't said can the price be hiked by 10% or 20% or 30%.

You are saying that Simba don't know that IMDA is reviewing the pricing ?

Everyone in the market has been waiting for IMDA's decision since many months ago. Many analyst reports also mentioned the outcome should be out soon, but till now, the result of the review is still not available. IMDA has up to 1H 2024 to announce though many expect it to be earlier, including all the market analysts. So it is as simple as Simba knows a review is ongoing but they won't know the timing of the IMDA announcement

See the below reports, from May till Nov, analysts and the Netlink keep saying will be soon.

So you are saying the Simba actually knows that IMDA is reviewing the pricing but thru the media, indicates they will launch the broadband by September 2023 despite that IMDA has up to 1H 2024 to announce ?

Their timing of the full launch is 1H 2024, which coincides with the IMDA dateline for the review.

Everyone is expecting IMDA to announce much earlier before 1H 2024. Their margin is only 6 dollars, no one will take the risk of doing a big launch and attracting a big pool of customers without knowing the exact price hike. End up, if the hike is too much, they will either have to increase the price or swallow the loss themselves, which can be avoided.

So now you are saying that the information you have is that the actual timeline for Simba broadband launch is 1H2024 and not by September 2023 like what the media indicated ?

P.S. If you have the information, you have to declare there is no conflict of interest here.

I am just providing logical reasoning based on publicly available information and simple business sense.

People are interested to know the delays, the logical conclusion is no business will want to make a loss and at that level of pricing which is so competitive, no prudence business will stick to 20 without knowing the actual price hike approved by IMDA. The cumulative CPI over the past 5 years was around 15%, if the hike follows CPI trends, perhaps it is still ok, but no one really knows until it is officially announced.

I never read about the September 2023 launch or saw any of their advertisement on the street other than a section on broadband on their website. Their Oct 2023 NE launch and 1H 2024 full launch, I read it here.

He is not declaring anything. He is just stating the publicly available facts, piece them together and make a logical conclusion.

It's still up to Simba to announce an exact date to launch the fiber service, which can still be delayed further for whatever reasons they want to make up.
