Read again. This is between credit card company and restaurant. To you, you have paid!
Same applies, buy the time you receive credit statement, whether you pay or not is between you are credit card company. Nothing to do with restaurant.
With one exception, if you dispute the item. Then further investigation will be done by credit card company.

How credit card user pay credit card is not the issue here. Perhaps we can take it off discussion to reduce confusion.

There is always 2 parties in addition to end user (me) and telco (TPG). These are the credit/debit card issuing company for end user side and merchant bank/company (acting for Telco).

For example in M1 case, I used Citibank credit card and M1 used to have Wirecard as merchant bank/company to collect the payments to be consolidated.

(1) Paid via credit card on M1 App
(2) Wirecard acknowledge the payment went through
(3) Wirecard informed M1
(4) M1 acknowledges the payment
(5) Few days later Wirecard post the hold of that payment amount to get the payment from credit card company
(6) M1 receive payment in consolidated statement probably in monthly basis

To me, what I am seeing is TPG was in a rush to go live on commercial plans and neglected step 2 and 3 above for non-recurring payments. They are not prepared for this on the programming side to work with their merchant bank/company.

IMHO.
My guess is that it may be due to trial and paid subscribers in the same system and they cannot be segregated i.e. if they turn on the automated billing, everyone will be billed. Thus billing becomes a batch process.

This became an issue after their 1st SMS and their support structure.
They could have worded the SMS more precise which perhaps would become a non-issue.

I am a trial and paid user on 2 different SIM card. I had never been overcharged for my 30 days $10 subscription. My paid subscription started on the 24 June 2020 after porting in from another telco.

Whatever is the case, we can conclude that TPG is not well prepared for commercial launch.

Just switch to TPG Prepaid. Also 50GB plan.
Do note that there's limited underground coverage. They're still building out the network and it'll take a while more.

Thanks so much! Wasn't aware of this prepaid plan. That makes it much easier. :)

Did they charge you $10 before you start to use as paid users?

Yes, collect $10 from me before I collect my SIM card from TPG. Then 3-4 days before the next renewal charge $10 to my card for the renewal.

New subscribers with new SIM would be ok. At least they got it right.

I am related about existing trial subscribers with SIM, changed to paid subscribers using the same SIM. They did not collect the 1st subscription up-front.

Anyone tried porting your line to TPG paid $10/MTH line? How is the porting process?

If my contract end 30 Nov, can I apply first and pick up on 1 Dec? Then billing start from 1 Dec?

This is my experience:

Once you pick up the SIM card, the line will be transferred that night at around 11pm+ onwards, so I guess u can choose when you want the line to be transferred by choosing which day to pick up the SIM card.

So there is an option when signing up, date to collect SIM card? If there is this option, than I can gauge the time and put 1 dec. Thank you
