Some people have very different experience on TPG -- compared to yours.

So far TPG works for me -- for the places I go to.

if you wish, you can read (a useful) post by @Hi1307 (on the other TPG thread).

Personally, my experience is similar to @Hi1307's post above.

If comparing info from speedtest app, I can get up to 113Mbps on TPG using LTE band 40:
(this is just 4G -- not even 4G+, i.e. without carrier aggregation)

With 4G+ carrier aggregation (CA), it's (likely) possible to get 2xx Mbps on TPG network -- again see post by @Hi1307.
(2xx Mbps should be similar to what people are getting on 4G+ at the other 3 local MNO telcos)

TPG is a 4G only Mobile Network Operator (MNO).
TPG operates only on two 4G LTE bands: Band 8 & Band 40.
If your phone only supports 4G LTE band 8 & not band 40, you may (on average) experience lower bandwidth.
(This means if your phone supports band 40 + signal strength is good -- always try to connect to TPG band 40 if possible.)

If you use Android phone, you may wish to use app(s) like Network Cell Info Lite -- to help you check the TPG mobile network signal -- at the places you always go to.
(If places you often go -- always no TPG signal or very low TPG signal -- then just port out to other telco !! Haha..)

Typically, using speedtest app -- on TPG (band 40), I get:

B40 -69dBm (or better): 11x Mbps
B40 -80dBm: 8x Mbps
B40 -85dBm: 4x Mbps
B40 -90dBm: 1x Mbps (even at this bandwidth, you can watch FHD 1080p Youtube no problem)

Inside my home, speedtest on TPG varies from 7x Mbps to 9x Mbps. Yes, I've tested using TPG as a hotspot at home to support other devices in accessing the Internet -- no problem.

Also, a lot of people are not aware that signal bars on the phone is not very informative.

On the phone I use; TPG signal strength can vary greatly -- ranging from -6x dBm to -90dBm -- yet the phone tells me I always have 5 bar mobile signal strength !!

Within one shopping centre, speedtest on TPG can range from below 20Mbps to 11x Mbps -- depending on where I stand in the shopping centre :)
(Yet my phone tells me I always have 5 bar mobile signal strength)

Often, your phone will connect to TPG band 40 indoors & TPG band 8 outdoors (but not always).

Of course, info from speedtest app is just a guide only, does not always 100% reflect real world bandwidth.

Even if you get 2xx Mbps on speedtest app -- other apps or Web sites you visit may not be capable of sending you data at such bandwidth. Haha..

Indoor? Try using it outdoors. Indoor can be very slow indeed.

Agree.... i just bought the $10 50GB plan... in my HDB flat near Bishan only 2 bars..

I bought it more for data use on my laptop and I use Internet dongle, just realised my current dongle doesn't support TPG cos it's too new, so i have to buy another new dongle.

And TPG does not have customer svc hotline, only can email to them... we are talking about a full svc telco.. not some MVNO...think that's why the price is so cheap

You can't call TPG but you can always visit them (if you wish to):

TPG service centres:
* 1 Kaki Bukit View, #02-10 Techview, S415941
* 181 Orchard Road, #04-28 Orchard Central, S238896
* 304 Orchard Road, #03-64 Lucky Plaza, S238863
* 133 Canberra View, #02-11 Canberra Plaza, S750133
* 809 Hougang Central, #01-166, S530809

(Of course you can also email TPG.)

IF choosing between:
Any MNVOs that have ZERO (retail level) customer service centres & TPG -- (personally) I take TPG any day. Haha..

***
Were you a TPG trial user?

TPG offerred FREE trial SIMs to anyone who wish to try TPG -- from the period late Dec 2018 to last quarter of 2020.

If you were a TPG trial SIM user -- you would know that TPG coverage has improved substantially today (Jun 2021) -- compared to those early TPG trial SIM period.

Nevertheless, TPG coverage is a continuous WIP (work-in-progress) thing (that gets better over time).

If you read IMDA's quality of service info for mobile 4G services (dated Dec 2020):
https://www.imda.gov.sg/regulations...-to-imda-standards/4g-services/Oct---Dec-2020
In the above link, you will see this sentence below:
"The MRT Tunnel Service Coverage standard for TPG takes effect from 1 January 2022."

If you sign up to TPG now -- without considering its' coverage is WIP -- then (I'm afraid) you have the wrong expectations. Haha..

Yesterday, I shared in my previous post in this thread that -- if you use Android phone -- you can use apps like Network Cell Info Lite to help you check the TPG mobile network signal.

Move around a bit at your location to find a spot that has better TPG signal.

If you have a decent phone + can connect to TPG band 40 at signal level -90dBm (or better) -- mobile data on TPG should (then) be very much serviceable.

If you don't wish to do the above -- and deem TPG service to be too poor at your location -- then just port out or terminate your TPG line.

All TPG mobile plans have no contract & there's no SIM card fees / admin fees when you sign up.

At point of TPG signup you should have paid just $10 for the 1st month's (30days) usage -- and that would be your only cost should you port out or terminate.

***
Last point...

Why need to use dongle? Years ago, I also use dongle on laptop. It's a hassle (from my own experience).

Nowadays, I just enable hotspot on my phone using TPG -- and connect my laptop wirelessly.

I do this EVERYDAY without problems. Sometimes I do this even when at home -- because I've good TPG signal in my home.

If you must use dongle -- just make sure it's a 4G dongle that supports both LTE band 8 & band 40.

Doesn't matter how new or how old the dongle is; also ensure you set APN to TPG in the dongle settings.

Hope the above helps.

I'm able to get 4G signal when taking train to EW Line - Bugis. The signal will be gone on the way from Bugis to City Hall.

Curious anyone here is using TPG prepaid line port over from other telco's prepaid line? Can I understand if the process is seamless? I was checking their website, it says just bring NRIC and current prepaid line ICCID will do.

I just port over to TPG and was informed line has successfully port over. However I am encountering some issues on my iPhone 11 Pro Max iOS 14.6

Done the APN settings but the Volte Options is not appearing? Am I missing out something? Not able to make or receive calls but the mobile data is working.

Hope someone able to help me out thanks

Under settings. Mobile data. Mobile data options. Voice and data. Check the LTE. Slide the VoLTE until it is green.
