Thanks. I whatsapp to the MyFirst Fone support and he also mentioned Simba is not supported for the voice call for R1s.
I guess I am stucked unless I port out to other telco.
Note: their port out method will screw u. you are only allowed to port out after 30 days on board.
- their bill deduction is every 29 days
- port out before 30 days will subject to what $150 or something early termination fee
- there's no bill rebate after port out
I couldn't live with their network coverage for my daily use. tried porting out on 31st ASAP.

Nobody screw anyone.. just need to open eyes wide when sign up ? M1 also has the minimum commitment period .

i port out 1 week + before the cut of date previously ... known fact that they need more time to port out ... staying a miniumum of 30 days with a telco/mvno is quite common

I thought early port out is only $30 fee?
If it is $150 then I will wait for 30 days

Btw which OS are you using? I’m still using the MyFirstFone app. The new Myfirstcircle app requires to update a new OS in the R1s. Not sure if the new OS that caused it?
I think mine is the latest

I am also using MyFirstFone app .
Usually I will call her using my normal phone call and not via the app when her sim card was with GOMO and it works.
But with Simba, I need to call her via the app

not with full fledge telcos, they return you unused days. commitment or money? end of the day if I paid for 30days port out use less, I still not getting a refund. They were not able to explain why I had to stay on the line. Also knowing there's a port out they still collected subscription before end of month (policy or govt requirement maybe?)

Yeah, it wouldn't have mattered if the network was better though...all other porting I've done didn't affect me as much as they had better coverage.

Maybe. but I vaguely recall wasn't worth it, unless your 2nd month subscription cost more than $30?
End of day. No longer will I ever try.

More and more purple (5G) areas are being mapped on nPerf app since SIMBA rolled out 5G to all it's users. Good to see more people trying to map out where 5G areas are.

I've noticed that recent days, Yishun, Choa Chu Kang areas start to have more 5G areas being mapped.

If you guys have a 5G phone, trying downloading nPerf app and start mapping the 5G areas. The areas that don't see 5G being mapped are Bukit Panjang, Tiong Bahru, Bedok South, Simei, Tampines and Yishun

Some queries on porting into Simba and roaming usage:
Sign-up - can I just pop by their store/authorised dealer and do the port in AND collect the sim at the same time? or have to do it online and go down collect or go down on 2 separate occasions if I didn't do online.

Billing - is it better to charge monthly to credit card or do top-ups? What happens to the credit in the ewallet when u want to terminate? I assume both monthly recurring and top-up should qualify for credit card rewards, so my gut feel is top-up is better to take advantage of top-up promos they may have from time to time.

Roaming Usage - calling back Singapore lines when overseas I understand is free to mobile and deduct from your plan to land line. However, this is only if use SIMBA voice app? If don't use the app, its as per IDD?

Making overseas call while overseas, e.g. booking at local restaurants, this is as per IDD and no need use SIMBA voice app?

I just switched from Singtel to Simba. Found that my phone battery drains much faster now compared to when I was on Singtel. Anyone else facing such an issue? I'm just wondering whether it's a network connection issue, like the phone is trying harder to connect to Simba or what.

Also, I used to have an option to disable 5G on my Singtel line to save battery life, but seems like no such option on Simba? Default only 5G network.

Yes, power drain is higher if the network coverage is poorer where you are because the phone works more to maintain the signal. So battery drain is a useful comparison to serve as an indicator.

Singtel is probably the best covered mobile network in Singapore. You've essentially jumped from the best to the (second?) worst, in terms of islandwide coverage. In some cases from experience, I can argue that M1 is worse. :(

I bought a seniors SIM at a shop and paid $5. How can I pay monthly by credit card? Seems like no options in the simba app. Seems like cannot do it in website too...

At $50+ per month for lower data vs $10 for 100Gb, I wanted to give it a try. Perhaps I'll port over back to a Singtel MVNO after some time. I can't even port over to a Singtel MVNO (e.g. Zym) directly from Singtel plan.

I think the data bundle isn't the right focal point. It's a red herring to distract users and make them feel like it's better value for money. Sure it's great to have more in theory, but what you actually use might not be as much as you assume it to be.

I hardly use 10GB on my phones every month since I have an internet plan at home and wifi at the office. 20, 50 or 100GB doesn't really matter. But if you tell me my first 20GB is high priority traffic, I'll be happier to pay for that than 100GB of deprioritised traffic.
